Great house for large group.
The size of the house was perfect for our large group. Although it is an older house and outdated it had everything we needed. There were a few changes based on photos. Master bedroom has a king bed and a queen bed. The sofa in the master bedroom is not a pull-out bed. The basement has 3 queen beds, 2 with doors and one in the living room area. The game/event room has 2 toilets and 1 sink. There is not a full bath on the main level. In the back yard, there are 3 small, round charcoal grills. The hot tub is out of service for those wanting a hot tub. Our group did not have interest in hot tub, therefore, not a disappointment for us. Although the host took a couple days to respond to my request for late checkout, he was kind enough to allow us a few extra hours.

Nice spacious house
The house was very nice, with plenty of room for everyone and a nice yard for the kids to run and play in. The only drawback was that we wanted to have a few people over for lunch and we were denied because the neighbors would complain. The neighbors house is very far away and I don't know how or why they would object. But other than that we had a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant environment.

Overall It was good experience
The house size was great for a large group such as ours. It was clean and very spacious. There were ample towels and linens. Thete were a few cosmetic issues and a few other issues but they did not prevent us from having a great time at the property. Originally we were not aware that the temperature was controlled remotely by the host and that it would be so low at night. There was an issue the first day/evening/night with the temperature (it was too warm originally and overnight too cold on all floors). Subdequent days were ok after texting the host and giving him specific temperature for day and night. The irons didn't work properly. We didn't get the air or TV in the party room to work. The TV in the family room didn't work, finally we figured out that the batteries were corroded and once replaced we got the TV to work. Some windows didn't lock (upstairs bedroom and party room). Overall we had a great time.

We had a very very good experience staying in this house. Though we had rented it for a larger group not all ended up joining. It’s indeed very well maintained. Every small detail has been thoughtfully taken care of. The response time for any query or request was very quick too. We don’t have any complain whatsoever. We can give it a 5 Star or more !!

Great house for large friends gathering in a good location
The house is perfect for a group of friends to get away. Our group was 6 couples and 3 single adults and we all had plenty of room. The bedrooms are large and bedding was very comfortable. Kitchen was ample for preparing food for our large group, and the bar room is gigantic. Unfortunately there was a water leak in the kitchen ceiling but the owner's response was prompt and fair, and we all made the best of it not letting it ruin an otherwise perfect weekend. Our group is already planning on renting the house again next year.

Slight disappointments
On the whole we had a wonderful time in the house. However, according to photographs there should have been an awning on the deck which was missing - and was actually necessary. Not sufficient towel rails in bathrooms. The filter for the water from the refrigerator needs replacing, but the property manager supplied us with ample bottled water. Overall beautifully situated with lovely linen and furnishing and a well-appointed kitchen. Prompt attention to all our correspondence with the property manager.

Great Stay in a quiet space
We had a wonderful stay in this spacious home, there was room for 5 families. My guess is the home sits in 1.5-2 acres where we got to enjoy a few visits from a doe and her fawns. The home was also filled with all the necessities such as spices, paper products, dish soap, garbage bags & the bathrooms had shampoo, body wash & lotions along with a hair dryer. (yay) I would highly recommend this property.

Good stay even with a few issues
The property was perfect for our big family to each have their own space. They had a pack n play for my son, which was awesome so we didn't have to bring his whole setup. We did have ant issues during our stay that made the kitchen almost unusable. The house manager was extremely responsive however, which I appreciated. They did try to make the situation right. Since I didn't see ants being an issue in other people's stay, I am assuming this is not normally a problem. Overall, a very good stay!

A welcoming, elegant and versatile property with a stellar host
This was perfect for my mother's 90th. The property was elegant and so accommodating for visitors from 1.5 yrs to 90 yrs (including a couple of us in our 60s with bad knees). Nirvaan was very communicative, responsive and helpful with everything before and during our stay. He made us feel so welcome and relaxed.

Beautiful expansive home, backyard and game room. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of order and we had a few leaks but they did not impact our stay. Host was extremely responsive and thoughtful. Also really loved that there’s a trail so close to the property. Really enjoyed the space and vibe.

This is a great house for a gathering, lots of amenities and space to expand into and hang out. The "party room" was fun though we didn't make as much use of it as I think we should have. Be aware that the beds are *everywhere*. Some of the rooms have very little privacy.

This was the perfect place for our family to celebrate my nephews short life. We had plenty of room for a large group. The room with the bar and ping pong table was chilly- it was cold outside and the room was large—this made it difficult to heat up. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great stay for any gathering
Gathered a large group of women to celebrate the upcoming marriage of a dear friend, and the house couldn’t have been better. Enough bedrooms to sleep everyone comfortably, plenty of linens, plenty of parking space, sparking clean. We cooked a lot of meals there and it was a great space to gather. Also wonderful location to hike or check out the local sites. I highly recommend!

Family Reunion for Wedding Celebration
Great location for 18 of us to gather as we celebrated a family wedding. We were ages 4 to 94, 13 adults and 5 children. Bedrooms were exactly as pictured. Host was very gracious in moving a few beds to accommodate our needs. All bedrooms are nice size, with room to manage luggage, etc. The master bedroom area is not pictured on website, but was pleasantly very spacious. Accommodated a king size bed, double bed, and sofa/coffee table area with plenty of extra room. Some of the rooms were warm at night, but there were room fans available to help. We only prepared breakfasts and kitchen was well stocked for that. Could use a few more cereal bowls. Looked like there was a good supply of other pots and pans on hand. Party room/ping-pong table was terrific for the children! And the room turned into a wonderful hair and makeup salon the morning of the wedding. Nice quiet location. Several of our group enjoyed walking the trails in the park across the street.

Property is very specious
The property was perfectly suited for our group. Very specious, into the woods, many bathrooms and bedrooms, very big bar counter room and specious kitchen. The bathrooms were clean and toiletries were provided. We had very good WiFi coverage in all the rooms and telephone signal. Overall, we loved our stay.

mini family reunion
We really enjoyed our stay in Darnstown. The property had plenty of room for all 13 adults and 3 kids with room to spread out. The home is well located near walking/hiking trails, grocery stores, and of course DC. The back yard and deck were amazing for hanging out and outdoor cooking. I would recommend this place for large groups. The accommodations were nice enough to feel comfortable, but we didn't have to keep eagle eyes on the kids for fear they would break or damage something.

Beautiful spacious house in the prestigious River Road in Potomac
We stayed here in June 2021 with a large group of friends and it's a beautiful place with 12ft high ceilings and very spacious rooms to accommodate all. The host (Nirvan) was very gracious and always there to answer any questions and accommodated all our requests. It truly is a magnificent area and everything in the house was exactly as was described. Our family and friends truly enjoyed the stay and would visit here again.

Very large, comfortable house in quiet neighborhood
Our stay was made very comfortable by the owner, who texted with us before, during, and after our stay. A house manual was provided and made understanding the features of the house very easy. We were a multigenerational group, and the ground floor bedroom was helpful for my elderly mother, while the "attic" bedrooms were a favorite of the teens. Sisters were able to stay with their entire families on both the second an bottom floors. Bedrooms provided privacy and comfort. LR areas were large enough to accommodate the entire group, as were the kitchen and dining areas. The ping pong table was a hit! We also enjoyed the out door seating area, and were gifted with a mother deer and her brand new fawn, for the entire week! There was only 1 issue that we could not figure out - the Nest heating AC system (we got there while it was 90 degrees, then it dropped to 46 degrees). The manual told us to contact the owner, but it did not get uncomfortable enough for us to do that. The neighborhood was quiet, beautiful, with lots of onsite parking and a circular driveway for easy entry and departure. The home was clean and had every amenity needed - including laundry supplies, extra linens, pillows, as well as toiletries. The owner even thought to supply coffee! I would absolutely recommend this property!

There are plenty of spaces in the house for our large group to spread out and for each age group to find their fun things to do. House is located right next to the C&O Canal Park which is great for hiking, biking, bird watching.

Huge house, Needs TLC. Check everything before you unpack. No A/C or no hot water - leave
Leave don't think twice cause you will be miserable for the rest of your trip trying to get everything fixed. Owner doesn't care and will not do right by you. 5 night stay. We had no hot water until the 4th night. Place needs a some TLC. It is huge, and very clean (good cleaning crew) but there is so many scuffs, bent and broken things it takes away from the pretty. Things like a cracked front door where is secures to the floor, A stove with 2 effective settings off and high. and a leaking toilet that keeps refilling every 2 minutes which you can hear from 4 bedrooms. We called to get it fixed and never got fixed. Owner communication started good, but half way through we were pulling answers out of them. They were sending people into the house without even attempting to coordinate with us. Don't like people wandering around where I am staying unsupervised especially in a very rural area. You are 45 minutes to 1 hour away from DC via a single lane road with (2) well hidden speed trap cameras and an artificially low speed limit in the trap. Other things to contemplate. Owner wants a copy of your driver’s license. As a recent victim of identity theft, having a digital unsecured copy of your driver’s license floating around is not a good thing. Someone wants to come by and check it I am good, but no copies. Another rule, “you may not touch the thermostats without texting the owner”. You need a ton of space this is the place for you. You need a ton of beds this is the place for you. You enjoy worrying that your valuables may go missing, or a remotely controlled thermostat that just shuts off in the middle of the night, or having to spend your trip getting answers for broken or non working stuff this is the place for you. Had it not been that we had already lost 2 days cause another owner scammed us, we would have called VRBO to move us again.

So sorry to hear your concerns. Had no idea all this was going on. I know you got scammed on another property and HomeAway called us to take your booking on only a few hours before your stay. The home does have two water heaters, both units very new. We did send the handyman to fix it and you did mention was fixed two days after you came. The breaker was triggered off not sure by who or how. I am sorry about the distance, HomeAway should have mentioned how far the property was when they booked it for you. In terms of the drivers license, thats standard practice that homeaway tells us to get and also required by the county for hotels and bookings. My daughter was born that week so things were crazy hectic. We are sorry again.

Any issues we had, the property manager resolved immediately. The house had the exact number of beds and rooms as listed in the property description. Everything was clean. The only complaint would be that the game room wasn't heated so it made it less enjoyable for us to be down there. Also there was a small animal in the basement when we first arrive. It was determined that it came through a pipe in the house. The property manager had it sealed off immediately and took care of it right away. We didn't have anymore issues that weekend.

Perfect home for our family!
The Potomac House was perfect for our family. We met together from different states to lay a beloved family member to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. The beautiful yard became our favorite place to talk and reminisce. Plenty of room and beds for a large family.

Lovely location for our retreat
Right across from Blockhouse Point Park, and with all the necessary amenities--even within an easy drive of a grocery store to lay in supplies. Exactly what we needed. There are multiple beds in some of the bedrooms and open sleeping area, which was less useful for our smaller executive group, but would be great for a family reunion with kids. Kitchen could just use some oven mitts and a sheet pan or two, but was otherwise lovely to cook in. Owner very responsive to issues.

Perfect for our big family
Very nice land and space. Kitchen was great! Hot tub difficult to work so maybe more direction to get it to heat, where the breaker panel is, etc. Needed a plug in tub on 2nd floor (not master). It was a wonderful place to be - we had fun sitting in the living room when the electricity was off, just talking to each other. Thank you!

Overall, it was a nice stay. We arrived at 4:15pm (Checkin time was 4pm), the cleaning people were still there and were surprised to see us. They rushed through the rest of the cleaning and left in a hurry. There were dirt on the floors. We tried the vacuum in the closet, but it wasn't working. There were bugs (dead and alive) on all floors, but more so in the basement. We couldn't light the charcoal in the grill, probably because it needed a clean out. The other grill was missing a rack. The ice maker wasn't working. As a suggestion, it was be nice to have hooks for optional curtain for the french doors in the bedrooms on the first floor and basement for privacy. These are minor issues and we did enjoy our stay.

We chose to stay at this property because it was much more affordable than hotel rooms for our large group, and it turned out to be an even greater experience than hotels. The house was amazing the deer and fireflies around the house were an added touch. The neighborhood was quiet and we could actually relax. The house was so amazing, pictures do it no justice. You have to stay at the house to really make your own picture. If we ever go to the DC area again rest assure that this house will be at the top of our list for lodging.

Large Potomic property
Great place for a large group, we were 6 couples and kids and we all had space, very comfortable beds, enough bathrooms, a nice living area, and kitchen and a large play room. The surroundings are beautiful with a huge wooded lot. The hot tub isn't huge, but still great to have. It was a plus to be right across the road from awesome trails. We had a great time here. The property manager was super to work with. The interior wasn't done by a perfectionist, and there were some things that needed attention, but maybe they will be taken care by now and they didn't affect our stay. We had a great time there. Would recommend for large groups especially. Would be great to add a shower to the main level for anyone who has trouble with stairs. Thanks...served our family well!

Beautiful, spacious house
We hosted a family gathering for Passover, and had a great time. The hosts were gracious and accommodating, the house was huge, and the area is spectacular. There are enough beds and bedrooms for a couple of dozen people, and the living room and party room are very spacious. We would definitely stay there again.
