This was an unfortunate one time occurrence and also a complete miscommunication. I take fault in some of the miscommunication as I was trying to tend alone to my 3 year old toddler and 6 day old newborn while doing my best to accommodate the guests in resolving the issue, by reaching out to housekeeper and others to assist as well as contacting local stores to obtain supplies to rid of the situation. We again were very sorry about the situation that occurred during these guests' stay as we never had a situation as such and were so surprised to hear about this as you can see by previous reviews. We were informed by our housekeeper via text and pictures that the guests that checked out just a few hours before your stay left the house in complete disarray, primarily the kitchen with spilled beer on counters and in the refrigerator, so bad that she had to scrape cardboard from the refrigerator. Outside of that they also utilized both woodstove and pellet stove and failed to follow instructions and shut it off properly and that created smoke and soot in the house. We often get some soot, but if turned off improperly this will create immense soot that often goes on house fans and creates dust on tv, appliances and such. Pictures were requested to share with the housekeeper when I requested for her to come clean. As I had informed the guest, the housekeeper was unable to come Sunday evening due to her family situation and so guest asked where cleaning supplies were and when I offered to pay for dinner that night, guest declined and stated that they had taken care of everything. My assumption was that the guest cleaned the fan on Sunday and no longer needed the housekeeper, who would’ve been there 1st thing Monday morning. We tried the best we could to resolve it from long distance and provided the guest with the cleaning fee and offered to pay for dinner and supplies they purchased. Our guests are our number 1 priority and after the guests departure a thorough deep cleaning was completed.

The living room area has forced hot air, (the vent may have possibly been closed by guests that left the same day as they used the wood stove that is also in the living room and heats up that room very nice when used as well. Thank you for staying with us and for reviewing our country home. As indicated on our listing page the naturally produced sulfur is in our water, but it is harmless and the smell is slight, but noticeable. The water can be used for any purposes as needed. Hope to have you back again. CHEERS!!!!
