Come in from a day on the river, the ice, or the trail, switch on your private cedar sauna, and let the cold melt away. Inside, knotty pine and a vaulted ceiling wrap you in warm wood, with a full kitchen, a queen bedroom, and a screened porch. There's room in the driveway for a boat or sled trailer, and the Kennebec River launch is 2 minutes away. Just off I-295, it's a quiet retreat and an easy base for exploring Maine in every season.
Step inside and the day slows down. The kitchen, dining table, and living room share one open, sunlit room, and the bedroom is tucked away in the back, quiet and dark for a good night's sleep. Cook a proper breakfast before dawn or a hearty dinner after a long day out. There's a gas range, a full-size fridge, an electric kettle, and plenty of counter space. Coffee and tea are stocked, so the first cup is on us. A queen bed waits in the back bedroom, and the bathroom has a stand-up shower with soap provided. We also supply an air mattress for the living room, so up to 4 can stay. It's best for friends or family who don't mind close quarters.
The sauna is the heart of the place. The electric sauna sits in its own fenced nook, with a bench outside for cooling off between rounds. Flip it on, wrap up in one of the robes we provide, breathe in the cedar, and let the heat work out a day of hauling decoys, drilling ice, or riding miles of trail. It's just as good on a cool summer night.
The screened porch is made for slow mornings and bug-free evenings. As the sun goes down, gather around the propane fire table out back. The shed out front keeps your gear dry and out of the way.
Summer brings warm days on the river, fall brings blazing color and hunting season, and winter brings ice fishing, snowmobiling, and the best sauna nights of the year. There's AC when it's hot and heat whenever you need it, plus Smart TVs and Wi-Fi for downtime or a little work. A heads-up on the heater: it makes a fairly loud blowing sound when it kicks on, a lot like the heating unit in a hotel room. It keeps the cabin warm on the coldest nights, and most people get used to it quickly.
There's one exterior security camera on the shed facing the driveway, and no cameras inside the cabin. No pets, please.
Being right off Exit 43 makes day trips around Maine easy, and Swan Island is close by.
