Trains:

Train tracks are located approximately 1½ blocks from the cottage. Trains typically pass 1–3 times per day, and the horn may be heard for up to about two minutes as the train approaches and moves away. Trains may pass during the day or overnight. Sound machines are provided in both bedrooms for guests who prefer them. Guests share that the trains have not been bothersome. We are disclosing out of abundance of caution.

Basement stairs:

The bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and main bathroom are all located on the main level. The second bathroom, laundry, and exercise room are located in the basement and are accessed by a somewhat steep and narrow set of stairs with a handrail. Guests with mobility concerns may find these stairs more difficult to navigate.

Traveling with a dog?

We’re happy to welcome well-behaved dogs to Quarry Hill Cottage! We have a nice-sized yard that is not yet fully fenced. The neighborhood is very walkable, with wonderful trails just blocks away at Quarry Hill and Silver Lake.

Dog requirements:

* Maximum of 2 dogs
* Fully house-trained and calm indoors
* No history of destructive behavior, including chewing or scratching doors, trim, window sills, furniture, or other belongings
* Must be comfortable being crated whenever left alone in the cottage
* Must be accustomed to staying off beds and furniture
* Waste must be picked up from the yard
* Guests are responsible for any pet-related damage or excessive cleaning required

We provide a kennel, pet bed, food and water bowls, and dog waste bags.

After booking, we’ll ask for a little information about your dog, including name, breed/mix, age, approximate weight, house-training, and crate habits. This helps us make sure Quarry Hill Cottage is a good fit for you and your pup!

Security Cameras

* Exterior security cameras are located at the front and rear of the property for security and property protection.
* There are no cameras inside the home.

Exercise Equipment & Optional Amenities

* Exercise equipment and other optional amenities are provided for guest convenience and use is entirely voluntary.
* Guests should use equipment only as intended and within their own abilities and comfort level.
* Please inspect equipment before use and do not use anything that appears damaged, loose, or unsafe. Notify us promptly if you notice a problem.
* Children should not use exercise equipment.
* Guests are responsible for using exercise equipment and other optional amenities safely and appropriately.
