Location: We flew into ZIH. Renting cars was challenging and frustrating. Pam , the owner helped us out with this. The drive was about 1 hour with the last 20 mins on a very bumpy road. The property and views - gorgeous and - quite private. Maybe due to the time of year the beach was partly sand with rocks making it challenging to walk very far with out good footwear. Right in front of the home was a nice sandbar, so we could walk out and play in the waves or surf. We made trips to Los Llamos , a close town for some provisions, Playa Salidita for surfing, and Troncones. Most of us were happy to hang out right at the Home with the beach and pool.
Home: quite well described previously, very impressive and for almost a week we had 17 people- 9 kids and 8 adults. We all fit well, and had enough areas to enable privacy.
I think it is important to note that the main villa is open air as described, we loved spending the days outside, with the beautiful ocean view. We did have some bugs spiders and bats. I view this a part of the experience of spending so much time outside in the warm climate. If you are looking for a closed off, paved, indoor, or less natural environment - better to stay elsewhere.
The rooms were comfortable and if you wanted the a/c was working - otherwise you can hear the ocean waves . The children slept in the main house without A/C and were very comfortable , it cooled down nicely at night.
Food and organizing details: The owner Pam was efficient and helpful. The family that looked after the house and grounds and food were outstanding. The food absolutely delicious and very fresh. It was a luxury to have Flora and her family buy, prepare and clean up after the meals.
Definite benefit if you know spanish , which I don't, but my beginner spanish improved and I am committed to learning more so I can go back and visit Casa del Surfista.
