„Our room decor was very tired and tatty, the shower was no more than warm, the plug in the sink was broken and the shower had no hand held wand so you had to get wet all over. The bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok.“

„I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.“

„The property was nice and we enjoyed the beautiful garden. The location was great too in the New Forest. Staff was very friendly and allowed us to store our bikes in a closed garage. The room we booked did not meet the requirements for a proper hotel room. It was too tiny and neither a chair nor a table would fit in. The bathroom was okay and we had warm water all the time. If you opened the window, there was a constant noise from a ventilation system which was installed right behind the window. ...

The Inn is a short walk to a scenic marsh and pond with fish/eel traps and a bench for savoring the peaceful view. The town of Stockbridge, about a mile away, is wonderful for window shopping (and purchasing!) and is the start of a beautiful picturesque 'marsh walk' through grazing cows and lovely pastures.
