The picture of the backyard made it look quite a bit bigger. But regardless, the kids had a GREAT time playing in the pool. Great home for big family gathering. The family walked to the beach and had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend.
We had a big group of family and friends to celebrate my 60th birthday. The pictures almost didn't do it justice. The rooms were spacious and clean, the pool area was great, and the view of the sunset and ocean from the front deck (with a fire pit) was amazing. There was plenty of room, supplies, and even toys for our little ones. Highly recommend! The pool area was amazing and
Overall great trip in a nice location with very well supplied home. While the property is showing signs of use and age it adds to the feel of being on the coast...beachy.Owner was personable and responsive and made us feel like he wanted us to understand and enjoy the property. We had 12 staying at the property very comfortably with room for more. We also had 18 for Christmas Day and served multiple meals being able to find all the kitchen equipment and dishes/flatware we needed.
The Good:
-The kitchen is well-equipped with a large gas range. There are ample dishes, cups, cutlery, pans and appliances.
-The outdoor space is unbeatable. The combo of pool, hot tub, wading pool, grassed area and patios is the best I've ever stayed at at any rental. The fire pit at the front allowed for quiet late night chats with amazing views of the stars.
- The neighbourhood, specifically the proximity to Ocean Beach made this an amazing place to spend the week.
-Management was very accommodating and helpful.
The "Meh":
- The beds and sofas were outdated. A couple of the beds are completely unsuitable for adults (top bunk and a trundle bed). The rest are old and have obvious signs of human impressions. These were fine for a group of men to pass out on after a night surfing and drinking, but if you have anyone looking for beauty sleeps, this isn't your place.
- The TVs. You won't spend much time on media, but 4/5 TVs at this rental are ancient, and some with faded image quality.
The Bad:
- I cannot overstate this, but the neighbour across the alley will try to ruin your time there. She called in a noise complaint at 4:38 PM on Saturday while we were out playing spikeball in the backyard. She went as far to take a video of us through the cracks of the fence. If you cannot be quiet at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY, do not book here. Noise rules are 50 dB during the day, and 40 dB at 8PM. I would imagine her ire extends to kids splashing loudly in the pool.
-WIFI is slow
We had a great week of pool time and various zoo, safari, whale watching and beach excursions. The VRBO location was perfectly situated for easy drives and then relaxing evening. Our family of 11 ages from 64 to 4 months had a great San Diego experience.
Very comfortable house in a wonderful area with plenty of parking, plenty of household supplies and kitchen amenities -- location is hard to beat, very easy for us to go to many spots in the area and provided wonderful walking to enjoy the views. Host was great - very easy to communicate with and quick to offer any help if needed. Plenty of linens, toiletries, beds, and space to spread out, as well as games, hot tub, and pool and outside toys to play with while there. Kitchen was well equipped for a group as we ate most meals here. Front deck was a great place to gather and enjoy the views and nice San Diego weather. I would definitely recommend to other large groups wanting a comfortable, relaxing place to stay and enjoy the area.
The property had an amazing views right across Sunset Cliffs. You could see this sunset every day, which was amazing. The house is very large and can accommodate a very large group and well and also has a very nice pool and hot tub. The host was also easy to contact very helpful.
This was a great house for my extended family to share to celebrate Christmas together! We had a lovely time, the host was wonderful and responsive (even on Christmas Day), the proximity to our activities was nice, and having a pool was great for the kids in the group. Thanks for a Christmas to remember!
First the positives -- excellent location, nice neighborhood, beautiful sunsets, great living area to gather, excellent communication from property manager. The downside is that the house is badly in need of some sprucing up. For example, the front screen door sticks, so that sometimes it was difficult to exit or enter. And there are windows that are difficult to open or close. But if you are looking for a convenient location with lots of space in a great neighborhood, this would work well for you.
We had multiple rentals to accommodate family and friends who were in town for a family wedding. This property had games. a great pool and room for everyone staying at the house to hang out. The location was amazing for everything we were doing.
Joseph was easy to communicate with and available for any questions.
This house is perfect for a large group staying in the sunset cliffs area. It has several comfortable rooms, a great kitchen, beautiful views of the cliffs, and easy access (right across the street!). Joseph was very communicative and accommodating during our stay. We did not get to use the pool and hot tub during our stay but both seem great. You even have the option to have the pool heated! Overall, a great option for a large group.
With 13 of us, 8 adults, and 5 teens staying right across from the cliffs was perfect for hiking and exploring tide pools, and a short walk to Ocean Beach with lots of restaurants. Everyone enjoyed the pool and pingpong table.Joseph was very helpful.
The house was absolutely gorgeous and the views were amazing. The location is perfect, close to San Diego but far enough out of the city where is has a relaxing vibe. Our group was large and had 20 people with 5 different families staying ages ranging from 74 to 8 and the house never felt crowded. Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and everyone loved exploring the coastline. The property management team is amazing to work with, very nice and accommodating! Book this house and you will not regret it! Will book again when we return to San Diego!
We had a work team getaway for four days at Sunset Cliffs.
Joseph was prompt, helpful and very responsive to all our needs. The location was fantastic and the pool was sparkling! The house was plenty big enough to have the 10 of us, each with his/ her own bed. We didn't feel cramped at all.
We all really enjoyed ourselves in this relaxed home. I would like to kindly suggest to Joseph, however, that some of the furniture (especially around the pool) needs replacement and the cleanliness of the pull out sofa bed I used to sleep in was questionable. The power tripped several times when we were there and we needed to call to get access to the power box. Joseph was very helpful and responsive but this may need to be upgraded soon as well.
We were in town for our wedding and brought our extended family with us. Joseph, who managed the property, was excellent and communicated exceptionally well. The view and the house were great. Will return in the future.
Sunset Cliffs Blvd is a perfect launch point to all attractions in San Diego. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable.
Overall a very good VRBO.
We had 16 of us staying at this property. Ages ranged from 3 year old, to adults. Everyone had their own bed, kids used pull out couch so they could all sleep together. Location is perfect for ocean view, watched dolphins from the living room. Pool was perfect for the kids, deck had an awesome view. Property was easy to get to and parking was never a problem. Would recommend.
The location and property amenities were fantastic! Beautiful view, an enjoyable pool & hot tub and a great fenced yard for kids! The kitchen is well stocked - we cooked for 15 and had plenty of dishes, glassware, and pots & pans. The host was very responsive to issues that arose. Negatives: The kitchen is small for the number of bedrooms and access to the bunk bed is funky.
The location is beautiful alongside the famous sunset cliffs. You have floor to ceiling windows in the living room for you to watch the sunset every night as well as an open deck in the front with a fire pit. We were winding down a long 3 city vacation ending perfectly in San Diego. We stayed for about 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious pool that transitions from walking/wading depth to 6ft. The hot tub functioned perfectly. The pool/patio furniture was also very relaxing. The great room was perfect for entertaining. The ping pong table was an added benefit as well. There was a clean grill with extra propane, but we did not use.
Sleeping arrangements worked well for our group of 8 with every couple/single getting their own bedroom.
Joseph was very kind, responsive, and quick to address our needs. There were several flies in the house which he addressed with a bug zapper same day. There were some broken screens in the windows which were addressed by the next day. A TV wasn't working properly so he bought and installed a new TV within the hour. Air conditioners are not common along the coast and so we used fans. Joseph quickly provided/replaced fans for our comfort.
The nearby sunset cliffs downtown (?) is really active with plenty of good food. We did not expect to see so many high quality restaurants in this area. We were also a short drive to Gas Lamp, Petco park, the zoo, and the airport. The hikes by the property were enjoyable too.
Thanks Joseph for an enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend this property.
