Das Hotel ist in San Francisco ist ein Klassiker. Aus diesem Grund haben wir es gebucht. Leider ist es sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sind sehr verlebt und haben nichts mit einem Standard eines Intercontinental zutun. Aber am meisten hat uns gestört, dass man alles von den Nachbarzimmern hört. Wenn ein anderer Gast duscht ist es unerträglich laut. Vor allem nachts, dann ist die eigene Nach leider vorbei. Schade.

The property was lovely and the service was very good. Our neighbors were a bit loud and we could hear them in our room. But in general, I highly recommend this hotel.

I enjoined my stay, but heater was not working. I notified the front desk and they only offered to deliver more blankets. I would have liked to have been moved to a room with a working heater.

Came for my 40th Birthday. Had high expectation that the hotel would be awesome. Bought a nice expensive suite with no heat. Staff never informed me at check in that the heat system was broken. My room was 62 all weekend and I spent an hour trying to figure it out before I called the front desk. Was told I would be on a waitlist for a heater. Never happened. Hotel was having locks changed and didnt call or give me a specific time. Someone just showed up and knocked consistently for three minutes while I was in the bathtub. I had to send him away. Called the front desk which said notices were in the room and they called which never happened. Top of the Mark and the view in the Suite were amazing but service was horrible for a $900 night suite. I enjoyed the experience but wont be coming again, due to the lack of communication and absolute disregard for their guest's experience. Check out didnt even ask me about my stay. Note to Hotel: Checking in a guest with no heater is not acceptable. You can change locks on a Tuesday , not on a weekend or how about when the room is vacant? Poor management and poor communication is not acceptable for a almost 1k a night room. Hiding and evading issues from your guests is wrong and should never be apart of any policy. Not a good experience at all.

We paid for an upgraded room. Paid $60 additional dollars. When we got to the room, we saw it was pretty dated-wallpaper falling off, no shower curtain, later using sink it got backup same with the tub. Disappointed but on the plus side, good location.

It was sleeping on Cloud the bed was super comfortable. You can tell that this place in the past was the Spot of elegance. It still has its original charm. If your down for the classic Hollywood Glam this has that charm.

Wonderful classic luxury charm with great service, scenic views (the rooms and the Top of the Mark bar!), well-appointed rooms, and a convenient location. The check-in was super smooth, and after arriving on a morning international flight they were so kind to allow me to check in much, much earlier than expected (amazing to get to refresh straight away after a long flight), overall a wonderful experience so far!

The hotel staff did a nice job of recovering from an issue with our room not being ready at checkin. That said the cost of the property made that issue harder to accept even with the apologies and accommodations. It’s lovely and convenient but as an elite hotel we expected more.

Staff and service was excellent from front desk, bell hop , in room dining and Top of the Mark. The rooms are spacious with nice amenities albeit the room , furniture and hallways could use an upgrade. All a little “tired”….paint peeling from the walls etc. Location is terrific and the lobby is stunning. Two things I didnt like, no in room movies and no gift shop. Other than that, it was great.

I stay here by choice.
My first concern is the safety of the residence. You are 100% safe at the Mark. You do have to take a cable car to get to it, unless you are driving. The Mark is a time piece, now 100 years old. You might find more spacious rooms in other areas, but you will not find the charm that is here.

Historical and classy
Love the ambience of the hotel. Made us feel like we were in a Hallmark movie especially since we stayed around the holidays. The only critic I have is the lack of soundproof in between rooms. It is an older hotel so should probably be expected. Just know that if you have a loud neighbor like we did, you will hear all the details of their phone conversation and music selections. Other than that, the rooms are comfortable, service is excellent, and we will bring our dog the next time we stay so we can include a picture of her on their pet MVP board! We very much appreciate the Mark Hopkins welcoming pets of all sizes with no fee!! Respect hotels who do that. Reflects good character.

We were travelling as a couple visiting our daughter that lives on the NE side of Nob Hill. Our first stay at the Mark. Overall, a classic hotel. We appreciated the entry and lobby experience. Our room on the 11th floor was nice with a great view and the bed and room very comfortable. However, the bathroom is tiny and the sink area is ridiculously small, so a trade off there. The public corridors are rather dingy and the corridor is filled most of the time with cleaning carts and dirty room service trays, so kind of like navigating a minefield during the daytime. Hence, 4 stars instead of 5. Oh, and the Top of the Mark needs a refresh. The architecture and decor are super generic for such an expensive destination. The breakfast at the restaurant is unremarkable and would rate the hotel 3 stars if just rating the restaurant. You are buying the history and the location here, and there is no replacement for that.
