Business-Hotel in zentraler Lage
Hotel ist typisch Marriott. Gute Lage nahe Union Square, aber Internet kostet extra (oder man wird Mitglied im Kundenbindungsprogramm). Wenn ich die Wahl habe (und der aktuelle Preis stimtm), bevorzuge ich das Nikko gleich um die Ecke. Wer mehr Atmosphäre sucht, geht in das Serrano, ebenfalls 1 Block weiter.

The property sells rates with BREAKFAST INCLUDED and it was a decisive factor in my reservation. However I felt deceived and disappointed when o arrived and was told that in fact there is not breakfast included but a credit of 20$ per person to spend on breakfast. Note that 20$ credit in a place where a coffee is 10$, it’s not enough. It’s ok to offer a credit, once it’s clear that is only a credit. But the property sells as “breakfast included”. I was told that I would apply my “destination guest credit” of $10 per day on breakfast as well, but when I tried to use it the restaurant was not able to apply 30$ credit, and on checkout the receptionist mentioned the he would remove the difference o my invoice, but I just saw the amount was not removed on my credit card. The costumer service was kind trying to minimize the impacts, but the resolution was not applied. Take care: breakfast included rate to JW San Francisco doesn’t mean breakfast included, but a small credit.

Most of the staff was professional and courteous. There was an instance during happy hour where my friend waited over 30 minutes to order a drink only for the bartender to never take the order. My other friend had to directly confront the bartender to ensure we all had our orders.

There were only two chairs in the room, a high one with a back and a high one with no back. Both were uncomfortable. You could not sit in them and read a book. And where am I supposed to sit to put on my shoes? Both chairs are too high. I could not find anything called "shampoo" in the bath room. "Body wash," yes, but no "shampoo." And, of course, food in the hotel was at eye-watering levels. $40 for breakfast, $6 for a cup of coffee. Two breakfast restaurants are only a block away. Go there. The HVAC sound was so intrusive that I turned it off. We reserved for two nights, but left after one because my wife became ill. The hotel nevertheless charged us for both nights, and put a $782.80 "reserve" on my credit card, even though the final charge (which I paid as I left) was only $537.09. The hotel also charged $29.06 for the first day's "destination charge" as soon as we checked in. The "free" Internet is free only if you join BonVoy for $14.99, I was told at the hotel. On-line advertising says that BoyVoy is free, so what is it? I get free internet at $89 a night hotels in Arkansas, so why do I have to pay in San Francisco? Finally, the $25 a night "destination fee." It can be applied against restaurant charges at the hotel, which forces you to eat there in order to recoup the fees. Why not jut add the "fee" to the room rate, rather than calling it something else?

Second time that I stayed here. Experience was not a satisfactory at the last time. This time a lot of hidden fees. Room service $ 20 to bring towels requested at the service desk. Destination fee $ 25 for 3 days = $ 75. Even if a pay in advanced I end up paying more plus the fee for expedia for $ 75. Security deposit for $ 150 per day for a total of $ 450 service desk personnel didn’t tell me about this charge or explained me about it just showed up in my credit card. Even if it will be refunded against hotel charges it will take time to apply the credit to my card. Not enough staff to take care of breakfast customers. Waitress and personal very good but management to blame for not having enough personnel to support customers.
