Summary:

An 800 sq ft private terrace, glass doors that fold away completely and your own plunge pool, with views to Playa Zicatela and the open Pacific. Watch for whales, dolphins, stingrays and turtles passing below. The villa sleeps six across three air-conditioned bedrooms, with Starlink Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and beach towels and an umbrella for beach days. Playa Principal is 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Ideal for families.



The Space:

The living room, dining room and kitchen share one great room, and the glass doors fold back completely onto the 800 sq ft (75 m²) terrace. Out there you have the plunge pool, shade, an outdoor lounge, a hammock and plenty of seating, all facing the ocean.



Bedrooms: all three have air conditioning. The main bedroom has a custom-designed king bed, plenty of closet space and an en suite with a double sink. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third is a bunk room with closet storage and a TV.



Bathrooms: two full bathrooms with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap and a hair dryer.



Kitchen: a breakfast bar with stools, stainless steel fridge, ice maker, electric cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and blender. You'll find a full set of pots and pans, cooking utensils and place settings for eight.



Extras: Starlink Wi-Fi, a desk, TV, in-suite washer and dryer, iron, safe, board games, beach towels and a beach umbrella.



Guest Access:

The villa has its own private entrance with keyless entry, and there are no shared indoor areas. The development has two shared pools and a common lounge area with ocean views. There's 24-hour security on site.



The Neighborhood:

La Escondida sits on the clifftop in El Faro, between Playa Principal and Puerto Angelito. Playa Bacocho, a quiet walking beach, and Playa Zicatela, the famous surf beach, are each 10 to 15 minutes away by taxi.



On foot, Playa Principal, the Adoquín with its shops and night market, and the Chedraui grocery store are all 10 to 15 minutes away. The Rinconada's shops and restaurants are about 20 minutes. The stairs down to Playa Manzanillo and Puerto Angelito are about 5 minutes on foot, and Playa Carrizalillo, worth it for the water and an ice cream, is about 20 minutes. The Mercado Benito Juárez, with fresh fruit, seafood, Oaxacan cheese, chapulines and local art, is about 25 minutes on foot or a quick taxi.



Getting Around:

The airport is 10 to 15 minutes by taxi. Most walks around this part of town are flat if you don't mind the heat. Taxis are one block away and you rarely wait more than a few minutes. A ride within Puerto Escondido typically costs around 40 to 50 pesos. There's free parking on the street.



Puerto Escondido is great for nature lovers: surf lessons at beginner-friendly beaches, baby turtle releases, and wildlife or fishing tours by boat.

Other Things to Note:

We are located in a friendly and welcoming community and, although this is a holiday destination, it's home to other people. As such we ask that you respect their privacy and their right to a peaceful existence! Specifically, between the hours of 10 PM and 8 AM noise should be kept to a minimum. No smoking of any kind.



As of October 25, 2023, Phase 2 construction continues behind the building but is now limited to interior work. Noise disturbances are rare but not entirely unavoidable. All guests are required to sign the rental agreement prior to their stay. A secure link will be sent before arrival, and completion is necessary in order to access the property.



Your stay includes 50 kWh of electricity per day. Any usage above this allowance will be charged at $5 MXN per additional kWh. Consumption is monitored daily, and meter readings can be provided upon request or if the limit is exceeded. To help stay within the allowance, we recommend turning off the A/C when leaving the property.



Hurricane season notice



If your stay falls during hurricane season, please be aware that storms can cause power outages in the area. These are outside our control and can happen at short notice. We're not able to offer refunds or partial refunds for power outages or other storm-related disruptions during your stay.



If severe weather or another natural event prevents you from travelling, cancellations will follow the cancellation policy on your booking. We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance that covers weather and natural events, as any claim for costs in that situation would need to go through your insurer.
