Where do I start? We arrived at the property 1 hour 20 minutes after the check in time. We had to walk up a massive hill to reach the property ( if you’re not an athlete you’re going to struggle ) we couldn’t get hold of the manager and had 2 suitcases with us, so we began to find it on our own. Finally we found it only to walk into the villa to see the poor cleaning lady rushing around ( she was the best part of the experience ) when we arrived, there was broken glass all over the floor, it was a complete mess, and the worst thing it smelt of smoke so bad ( we are not smokers). With a wedding the next day this was not ideal as we didn’t want our clothes to be smelling of smoke. When I rang the management to explain all of this, I was replied with “ what do you want me to do about this, the weather is bad “ granted it was windy, but when you pay for a 5* experience you expect a 5* service. As everyone left the villa we began to check it out. Only to find poo stains in the toilet and the bath disgustingly dirty from the previous guests. At this point we were tired and drained and just wanted to sleep. It was not all bad. The days got better, they planned a lovely engagement for me, and the assistant manager and cleaner were a delight. But not to be compensated for the smell of smoke for 2 straight days or the arrival mess we walked into was simply not correct. But the area is very quiet and the views are stunning.
