Hotel ist gleich beim Strand, sehr schön. Aber die Zimmer bestehen aus Holzcontainer dadurch ist es sehr hellhörig da auch gleich die Schule und die Ecke ist. Sehr Eco wie der Name sagt. Schlichte Zimmer die aber täglich sauber gemacht werden. Mehrere Restaurants in Laufweite. Morgens immer das gleiche Frühstück leider keine Abwechslung. Für lange Aufenthalte nicht zu empfehlen. 2,3 Nächte i.O.

stilvoll und modern, äußerst freundlich
modern und schlicht eingerichtetes Hotel mit viel Holz und hellen Zimmern. Nach Verfügbarkeit den Seaview-Room auf der Dachterrasse buchen, nicht nur wegen der Aussicht, sondern auch weil etwas windgeschützt. Unheimlich freundliches Personal, da haben wir selbst bei nur 1 Übernachtung frü um 5.00 Uhr ein sehr liebevoll hergerichtetes reichhaltiges Frühstück bekommen. Fluglärm ist trotz Nähe zum Flughafen kein Thema. Restaurantempfehlung: zentral im Nachbarort am anderen Ende der Bucht.

Das Hotel ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet, dies aber sehr stylisch und modern! Man fühlt sich sofort wohl und kann den Aufenthalt entspannt genießen. In der Umgebung gibt es nicht viel zu sehen, für Ausflüge nach Mindelo muss man ein Taxi oder den Bus nehmen. Das hoteleigene Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, es gibt ein Menü für alle Gäste, das sehr lecker ist. In der Umgebung gibt es ebenfalls (wenige) nette Restaurants. Nach erfolgter Buchung und Bestätigung durch Expedia unbedingt nochmals abklären, ob die Buchung geklappt hat! Laut einer Mitarbeiterin kommt es oft vor, dass die Zimmer trotz Bestätigung nicht verfügbar sind und man dann plan- und zimmerlos an der Rezeption steht. Lieder ist uns dies auch passiert, durch den tollen Service von Expedia wurden wir aber mit einer Alternative versorgt. Beim zweiten Mal hat es dann geklappt.

Da brauch man kein schlechtes Gewissen haben, in einem Entwicklungsland Urlaub zu machen. Dies Hotel hat nichts zu verbergen, und befindet sich öffentlich mitten auf dem Dorfplatz.

I booked the "suite" after reading other reviews, and it is a tiny little sweat box up three flights of stairs. Wild to charge so much for so little value. What saved it was the view, which is indeed lovely, and the kindness of the staff.

Fab hotel which blends a beach cabin vibe with Scandi style. The team, particularly Stephen, were very helpful. Right next to a great beach - beautiful but the waves are too strong for yourlng children.

"Un grogue!" Aquiles is a fantastic, warm host in an iconic building in the heart of a cute village with a great beach. Definitely worth staying a few nights!

Lovely hotel in a lovely fisherman's village
I had a lovely 2 night stay in Aquiles hotel , the building itself is brilliant, built with recycled materials and the rooms and breakfast area are brilliantly built ! The bed was very comfy and the room had a nice balcony to relax... The staff was great,welcoming and always eager to help...Breakfast could be improved. The hotel is located 10 meters from the beach and right on the main square of the small village of São Pedro.

Het verblijf tussen de lokale bevolking van Sao Pedro was bijzonder, ontzag voor de vrolijkheid van de mensen die naar Westerse maatstaven in armoede leven. Op de kamer van het hotel was maar 1 stoel, terwijl 2 toch wel fijn is. Ook ontbreekt een klein koelkastje. Gastvrijheid was prima en iedere avond verse vis.

Close to the airport and comfortable
The hotel is literally a stone throw from the beach. It met the expectations from the photos, and reviews which was great. The room to my experience had everything I needed. The Wi-Fi from the ground floor will not reach the 2nd floor unless you are outside on the balcony, but for me, this was perfect! No wi-fi signals (except CV mobile Telecom), sea-fresh air, and generally very quiet atmosphere. If you require amenities like an iron to press creased luggage clothes, they can supply one for you. Most staff are bi-lingual with Portuguese and English, and are very friendly and welcoming to get on with. They can provide sound recommendations of the sights to see on the island, in addition to calling taxi services for you to wherever you wish to go. The intermittent sounds are school children playing in the daytime, aircraft landing and taking-off once or twice an hour which is a far and distant noise not to worry about. I was fortunate enough to experience the 'I love Sao Pedro' community party (mid-September) where the town all come together, and have an enjoyable time from Friday-Sunday afternoon. If you like music like I do of a younger crowd, you will enjoy the moment right through until 5am! The hotel is only 3-years-old, and definitely has the potential in this area to become more popular than it is. I would say in my opinion that it is suited far more to single travellers like myself, and couples.

The hotel is situated close to the beach, but it doesn’t offer a view to it , no Terrasse, no sun beds or umbrellas. The restaurant of the hotel was closed, the restaurant nex door as well. We even couldn’t get a biscuit with our coffee in the afternoon. At night the room was really hot and loud because there were many dogs barking in the neighborhood . The room was small, basic but stylish .

Unique hotel architecture
Architecture of this building / hotel is making your stay very unique as it's real experience of staying in a small wooden box / container. The area of the hotel is safe and very close to life of local community (school, playground, beach full of fisherman's) and staff is very friendly, offering a glass of ponch / grogue during check-in. Overall stay was OK, however the rooms are overpriced for the provided services : many times during our short stay we had issues with water in the bathroom (no water at all in sink, shower and flush in the evening / morning) and WI-FI signal is available only in the restaurant / reception desk and breakfast is served after 8 am, which is little bit late to discover the island. Hotel have great potential but need some improvements!

La reception de l'hotel n'a pas retrouvé notre réservation. Ils nous ont proposé une chambre simple à la place de la suite prévue et payée. Nous sommes donc repartis, la chambre nous semblant très petite et mal insonorisée. A quand le remboursement????

Dear Madame Marie, we are afraid about your reservation, but the problem is with the site where you made the reservation, because they don't sincronize the reservation in the same time that we do. For this reason in their site the room is free, but in the reality it already booked. So we apologize, but we can't do nothing with that. This place is amazing!
The hotel itself is wonderful. I loved the simplicity of this building and everything felt very clean and open. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a simple fruit, yoghurt, eggs and coffee affair but freshly made by the lovely staff with local ingredients. Fantastic! There was only one thing that caught me off guard with this place, and that was the little town where the hotel is situated, Sao Pedro. The town is very basic with many buildings in somewhat dilapidated condition. This is probably just a reflection of the simple way of life in this small fishing village and my first impressions are probably more a reflection of my rather sheltered travels in recent years. The town seemed safe and the locals nice enough. Just be aware before you go that this is a simple town that has seen little wealth. To many people this could just be another draw card for staying in the wonderful Aquiles Eco Hotel. Other than that, the beach is breathtaking, the landscape is fascinating and the lighthouse built on the cliff at the end of the beach captures the imagination. Overall, I loved my stay here.

We booked the suite. This was on the top floor and had a large terrace with brilliant beach, mountain and sea views with lovely sunsets. The photographs and hotel description on the website do not fully prepare the visitor for this very unusual hotel where all the rooms are basically very well equipped wooden sheds. We loved ours but were aware that other rooms were smaller and did not have the benefit of a large sea-facing terrace. I would advise travellers to book the suite - or the 'penthouse shed' as we came to call it.

Struttura molto originale, gradevole e funzionale
Soggiorno sicuramente piacevole, grazie alla splendida accoglienza e disponibilità dei gestori-proprietari e del personale. L'albergo è a 100 m dal mare, molto ben inserito - anche dal punto di vista delle relazioni umane - nel centro di un villaggio di pescatori. Cercavamo una soluzione semplice, confortevole ma anche "non coloniale", e l'abbiamo trovata. L'albergo è indubbiamente originale e interessante come struttura, gestito in maniera efficace. Oltre all'abbondante colazione, si può anche contare sulla cena, mentre nel villaggio sono presenti alcune altre piccole strutture per mangiare o bere una birra. Facile spostarsi in città o all'aeroporto. L'isola presenta molti punti di interesse. La spiaggia davanti all'albergo è forse la più bella di Sao Vicente. Gli abitanti sono cortesi e ospitali; essere ospiti di questo albergo, oltre tutto, probabilmente agevola i rapporti con gli abitanti.

Charmant, mais gare aux courants d'air!
Cet hotel est d'excellente qualité : le concept eco-hotel est très intéressant, les chambres sont simples, sobres mais le design est idéal. Cependant, un gros bémol pour ma part : Sao Pedro est une ville très balayée par les vents, et notre chambre (la n°3) située à côté des escaliers n'téait pas protégée des courants d'air par les chambres voisines, nous n'avons donc pas pu fermer l'oeil de la nuit car le vent a "sifflé" continuellement toute la nuit. Ce qui est très regrettable, car le lieu et le concept sont vraiment charmants!
