We stayed here for a month while renovating our house. We chose the location because it is near our home and is pet-friendly. We found it to be comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen is huge! But what sets this place apart is the location. It is very convenient and is ideal for those who want a home base from which to explore downtown, the Victorian District, the Starland District, Tybee Island, the Moon River District, and just about anywhere else in town. It's also a quick walk or bike ride to the DeRenne Avenue trailhead of the Truman Linear Park Trail, part of the Tide To Town urban trail network. Turn south for Lake Mayer and north for Daffin Park and Grayson Stadium, home of the Savannah Bananas.Plenty of restaurants are within walking distance, including several national chains. However, no need to go there when you can walk to enjoy Chinese, Filipino, Jamaican, Vietnamese, Latin American (two choices), a beloved breakfast joint, a seafood and barbecue mainstay, local pizza and sub places, and an amazing bakery. Venture a little farther west to the Habersham Village Shopping Center and find Italian, Japanese, a sports bar, two local bistros, a candy store, a drugstore, a pet store, a liquor store, a fun neighborhood supermarket with fresh local produce, and even a camera store — all locally owned and operated (except for the drugstore. It's Walgreens). As noted before, it's easy to reach the tourist hotspots from here, but this is real Savannah!
