Typically when arriving at a rental we walk in, set our stuff down, and begin to enjoy the property and area. NOT THIS TIME.Upon entering we noticed the dirty floors, two curtains off their rods, marks, scuffs, and dirt on EVERY wall and trim, the hole in the bathroom wall that had been hastily patched with patch material on the floor below it, the furniture was shifted around, a ceiling light cover laying on the floor and another missing. And from there it just continued noticing things that were dirty or damaged. Construction materials and mess outside was not limited to the construction sites. Trash - including bottles, cans, balls, plastic sheeting, etc.were on every side of the property. The egg-style chairs outside had been hastily assembled because my husband had one collapsed while he was in it. We noticed the bolts connecting them had fallen out and the bolts on the other chair were also loose. My father in law nearly fell down the stairs when a piece of bull nose trim came up and pulled off. Numerous pieces of trim were pulling away from the wall. A kitchen cabinet was crooked and didn't close, and the same for the door to the master bath. When I contacted Samuel he didn't mention anything about the fall and potential fall in his response and merely responded that there had been college parties and "it was a whole thing". I requested he refund our cleaning fee because the property was so dirty and in disrepair, but he dismissed the concerns as "cosmetic".
