    The Space:

    Everything you do at this contemporary, light-filled home just outside Newport, you'll do within sight of crashing ocean waves and the broad sandy beach. This oceanfront home even has its own trail and staircase leading down to the sand, allowing you to spend your vacation boogie boarding, beachcombing, and whale watching with ease.



    Come up from the beach each afternoon to be greeted by a spacious deck overlooking the ocean, where you can settle in for a soak in the private hot tub or sit down with a cold drink and a view of the water. Step inside to find an airy and open great room with lofty, natural wood ceilings and large picture windows that frame the beach. Toss your swimsuits in the private washer/dryer, warm up by the gas fireplace as you kick back on the soft leather sofas, and find a movie on cable or Netflix to watch on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV. Come dinnertime, you'll have a fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances and such helpful bonus tools as a slow cooker, a rice cooker, and an espresso maker. The spacious island breakfast bar, which opens to the living room, provides ample seating for both prepping and dining, with additional space available around the four-person dining room table.

    This oceanfront home sits directly above the beach, with a beach trail and staircase right out back. You'll be just outside of Newport's city limits, with such local landmarks as the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Yaquina Bay Bridge, the Newport Historic Bayfront, and Historic Nye Beach a quick five-mile drive up the Oregon Coast Highway.

We had several little issues, and one large one with the upstairs shower leaking into the first floor dinning area. Outside door latches didn’t work, hot tub cover lift was broken, etc. But the good outweighed the bad. It’s got very good access to a very long and quiet beach, with lots of fun 20 million year old fossils to find. The view is restricted to just in front of the house because of all the vegetation, but is still nice. The bedrooms are comfortable, but oddly configured. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, including the master bedroom, but it shares the bathroom with the other bedroom. Upstairs is just a loft area, so no privacy as it overlooks the livingroom. It would work well for a family with young children, but for a group of friends or colleagues, it might be a bit awkward. The kitchen is okay. Many of the utensils and appliances are old and some are even rusty. I wouldn’t want cook a lot of meals here, but it’s fine for a few breakfasts and lunches, or most casual meals. The furnace is very loud in the master bedroom. We had to put a suitcase on top of the vent to quiet it down. The house is located conveniently near Newport, so finding meals and shopping is great. It’s also close to the Aquarium. Even with all the little hitches, I still gave it a 4 star rating. It’s got all you really need for a fun beach getaway. It was clean and had easy access to the beach and Newport. Be very careful of the very small driveway leading off of highway 101.

That view from the living room is amazing! We couldn’t find the washer/dryer that was minor and our family weekend was lovely. Checkin/out is very casual but can leave the guest wondering if they did all that was expected.

The ocean views, hot tub on the deck, and access to the quiet beach are the selling points for this home. I would love to see upgraded beds, bed linens, and kitchen equipment to better align the property with its price point. A home guide, tide chart, binoculars, and local area information would also be helpful. Guides at the home were for other towns.

Perfect!

Everything was clean and the view was beautiful. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. The walk down to the beach was short and easy. The beach was beautiful and had very few people on it, due to it being mostly private access paths in that area. One morning we had the whole beach to ourselves for a couple of hours. The hot tub was well maintained and had a great view as well. The deck and the landscaping were all pristine. It's a very short drive to Newport, so we were able to go do some tourist activities on the days we weren't just relaxing at the house and beach. We really had such a nice vacation!

Beautiful stay on the coast

This home was made for a great stay for our family. The home is set up very well for younger kids who really enjoyed the loft space. There were also plenty of games, puzzles, and even beach toys which the kids loved.

Great house; lousy experience with property manager

The house and everything was awesome! The experience was frustrating though, since they had a repairman coming to the house during our one full day in the home. We were told it could not be rescheduled, and that there would be a vacasa rep with them; the guy showed up an hour late, while we were cooking dinner and there was no rep with him. We had to interrupt our cooking process so he could fix the oven. Before during and after the stay we got no satisfaction from vacasa. I would say if you want to stay somewhere and trust the property manager is going to have your interests as a priority, I would look elsewhere! If not, it was a nice home and we did have a great time!

Great house in a beautiful setting

We love this house! It’s the second time we have stayed there. The home is cozy, with a fireplace, comfortable sofas, and a great view out over the ocean. We spent lots of time on the deck and in the hot tub. The house is well stocked with lots of games and toys for ocean play. the kitchen is nice with good appliances, but pretty banged up pots and pans. The upstairs spaces are open to the main living area so not ideal for people who want privacy. All in all it’s a wonderful place for a getaway. We will be returning next summer!

Highly recommended

Beautiful home and location. Despite being clustered near other houses, it's very secluded and private, including some small walking trails around the house. My partner and I walked down the beach for at least a mile and didn't see another soul. A very short drive to town if you need anything. Everything was very clean and exactly as described.

Lovely Stay

What a beautiful spot! It was a great location. Not too far from Newport. The bottom of the steps for the beach access was a little tricky to navigate if you have mobility issues. That being said, we almost always had the beach to ourselves! It was a nice weekend away with family. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the house very much. In our opinion, the photos provided an accurate representation of the house and property. We felt that it was in good shape and had a good layout. We particularly enjoyed the view, the hot tub, and the very easy trail access to the beach. Although there are neighboring houses, the house is well situated to provide a feeling of privacy and the area is very quiet and peaceful. If we return to the area, we definitely would stay here again!

Hot tub great, location great, beds very firm, not super clean, hot water in main shower did not work. Walls need paint and some missing decor just open nails on walls, just needs a little TLC but could easily get 5 stars then.

Beautiful Views!

This spacious property had everything we needed. The hottub and the beach access was amazing. The only reason it gets a 4 star is because the master bedroom door knob stopped working the first night and we could only access it through the bathroom. We also couldn’t find the keys to the hottub or the laundry before looking through reviews. We contacted the host and never heard back. They are located on little hooks on the trim of the doors.

Overall rating is a 4 due to needs new dresser in master bedroom downstairs, drawers drop down and have musty odor, did not use it. Also hot tub only used once due to strong chemical smell. Screen to back porch needs repair, otherwise all was perfect. Beautiful views, comfortable beds and couches, very cozy, roomy and we would stay here again.

Beach Cottage Getaway

Our stay was fantastic and we all had a great time walking on the beach and going into town. Very convenient location. One thing to note is that the driveway is a bit hidden and you have to make a turn off 101 with cars coming at you and cars on your heels. There is a turn lane but if you are unfamiliar with the location having a gps will reduce your stress.

Oregon Beach Retreat

This is a beautiful home with a gorgeous view of the Pacific, beach access, and a great location with access to groceries, restaurants and supplies nearby in Newport. We all slept well in comfortable beds. The kitchen was the center of activity for us, and it was wonderful to view the crashing waves while preparing and enjoying meals together. The beach access requires agility, but it is a unique privilege to have a pathway down to enjoy this wide and pristine beachfront. The hottub and large deck facing the ocean are exceptional. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful oceanfront beach house

Eight of our extended family members stayed at this house in August. It was so comfortable and clean. The view from the open kitchen/living room and deck is gorgeous. If you want a place away from crowds to enjoy the beauty of the ocean - this is the place! Beautiful landscaping surrounds the house as well. A short private access path leads to a very uncrowded, spectacular beach. Neighborhood is very quiet. The loft area has a nook with a queen bed and a full-sized bed. There is a bathroom between the two nooks, but the loft is fairly open to the living space below. This worked just fine for our particular group. We had a lovely time and would definitely rent again!! Thank you!

Nice Home in Beautiful Location

Excellent place to stay in a perfection location. The deck and hot tub are a wonderful bonus. Beach access is very near the house, though as other reviewers have commented, that last part of the steps is just rocks, some of which are a bit wobbly and somewhat hazardous. We just went slowly and helped each other as needed though, so it wasn't a hassle for us. The biggest issue was there was no welcome note that told us where the keys to the hot tub lock and the laundry room were. Eventually we found them on hooks by the doors (I'm short so I didn't see them until my son spotted them). An updated note with this information would have been helpful. There were plenty of bath towels, and it was great to have access to the laundry room. We ran out of dishwasher soap and had to purchase our own, so more of that would have been nice. The open concept layout is excellent. We had seven adults and a teen and infant, and we could all be together in the living/kitchen area comfortably (though we did rearrange the furniture to capitalize on the view). All four beds were very comfortable, and it was nice having he screen that could be pulled to provide some privacy for one of the upstairs beds (they're in the loft area and separated by the bathroom and closet but don't have walls/doors for full privacy). It would be good if a curtain or screen could be provided for the other bed as it's at the top of the stairs. We thoroughly enjoyed this property and it worked well for our group. Plenty of parking for our three cars (two on one side of the home and one on the other). There were no plastic spatulas, which was tricky considering the non-stick cookware. Also, there were plenty of knives, but they are all VERY dull and we were unable to get them very sharp with the honing tool provided (too little/too late). Overall the kitchen was very well stocked and we certainly didn't struggle much to cook meals for our large group. The home could use a deep clean when the season is over (when we rearranged furniture to accommodate, there was quite a bit of debris discovered), but it was certainly welcoming and the cleanliness was fine when we arrived. Highly recommend this property.
