Awesome stay at Island Horizons

My family of four had a wonderful stay at Island Horizons. The house was very clean, well-stocked, and the beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms all have A/C but there is no A/C in the main living and kitchen areas. We did not find this to be a problem even during a pretty hot week in June, since the breezes are great. The house is on a pretty steep hill, like most places in St. John, so as most reviewers noted, you will need a Jeep or 4WD vehicle to access the property. But the view is incredible and worth the effort. A few good notes: the pool is great for smaller kids as there is a shallow end and a deep end (4 ft. max); also, the location of the house is good, the center of Coral bay is just down the hill (5 minutes, although not really walkable) and so there's a market and a few good restaurants/bars right there. It's only a 20 minute or so drive to most of the best north side beaches. Cruz bay is about 25-30 minutes, but mainly because of the windy roads. A few other things to note: there is a gas grill but it's seen better days, so we purchased those disposable aluminum pans to make it work. The second floor is also not accessible from inside the house, you have to use the outside (covered) staircase, which is a little different. Overall, we loved our trip to St. John and did some of the best snorkeling yet. We'd definitely stay at Island Horizons again!

Dream Come True Family Vacation

Island horizons was the perfect vacation villa for our family of 7, our two adult children and their spouses, our 2 year old grandson, my husband and me. The views are incredible. The house is stocked with everything you could want for a beach vacation, coolers, chairs, floats, and sun shade. We have stayed at this property several times before and it is even more comfortable and beautiful than before. Antares staff always communicated clearly and were very helpful! The only thing I needed but couldn't find was a cutting board!

Wonderful stay!!

This was our first time on St John, and it was a wonderful experience! The house was perfect, & had everything we needed; kitchen supplies, beach supplies, games, books, toiletries, etc. The house is a short drive to numerous beautiful beaches, and just uphill from the market & a few restaurants and bars. The driveway was STEEP, but everything else on the island is, too!! Seriously don't attempt it without a 4WD vehicle. Our only hiccup was meeting our greeter; she had told us something different than what was in the email instructions, and with no cell service, there was some confusion. I REALLY appreciated the Antares Team reaching out to me before our trip, to give advice on rental cars, notification of cell service being sparse, and all the other tips and instructions they gave. It made our stay MUCH more enjoyable.

Another relaxing stay in st john

We loved Island Horizons ! Caroline was easy to work with and the house was ready for us. The views are amazing!! We had a small group, so being away from everything was ok. But if you like to be near restaurants (a few at the bottom of the hill, but closed most of the time and or very busy and turned away our orders which is understandable) or near shopping, this place is a little off the beaten path and will take about 25 minutes to get back into town but that's why we liked it :) You will need a jeep to get in and out of the house drive way. A car will not make it, especially if it's raining! The ac in the middle level bedrooms did not work well and in July it's tough. The breeze is good coming through at night though. I would stay again, maybe in the "cooler" months (December, January) less humid. The team was on top of a few concerns we had and that was appreciated. Loved it , will be back again !

Island Horizons

We experienced a spectacular week in paradise! Island Horizons was the perfect home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for more. We enjoyed our early morning coffee watching the sunrise from our third-floor deck, lazy afternoons swimming in the pool and cooking our meals in the fully equipped kitchen…great to use the grill too. Every room has a spectacular view of Coral Bay. Trunk Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to. Great to have beach chairs, coolers and quality towels all provided. Caroline, the property manager, was very helpful with recommendations for both restaurants and places to go. Our family would definitely stay here again!

Wow! What a perfect vacation home to stay at in St. Johns

Family of 5 went for some family time. This home was amazing - perect location - amazing views - clean, clean clean - All the beds were comfortable - Kiitchen had everything you need - 2 Family rooms - outdoor pool - breeze from the bay coming in from all the windows and all the patio doors ( 7 DOORS FACING THE BAY) with the tropical birds was so cool - Shawna our house manager was so helpful with the check in and took extra time giving us the ins and outs of the island which really helped a lot, we felt like family - the management company kept an eye on us making sure we were good and if we needed anything - they also provided beach chairs - coolers to use which was really handy - The neighbors - which you can't see - but when you go for a walk all the neighbors were really freindly. Perfect VRBO - Thank you so much for all the memories - Resturants and grocery store not even 5 minutes down the hill - sunrise and sunsets are magical!

A Wow Experience!

Arriving after dark was a hair-raising experience along the narrow, wind-y roads leading to the property. However, our greeter was wonderful and helped us along by phone and in person. The house and gardens were lovely, spacious, and clean. The view was gorgeous and everything was as promised. We even mastered the hairpin turns after a couple of days. We'd all come back in a heartbeak.

Perfect in every way!!!!

The Island Horizons was everything we imagined and more for our group of 8. Our greeter Caroline was in contact with us though out our travel day, starting in the morning before our departure flight until we met up and she escorted us to our villa. Caroline gave us a walk through and answered all our questions. The home was all ready for our arrival clean, maintained, plenty of towels, great amenities, well stock kitchen and comfortable sitting through out. We did have a water issue (of our own doing), which was promptly taken care of by the Antares team, through Erika. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and calming evening island sounds. We will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Great View, Great Home, Great Location

This was our first trip to St. John. Two couples that have never been to the Virgin Islands, and have never done a VRBO overseas. Nervous is just an understatement. Shawna and the Antares crew was top notch. They gave us so much info on what to do before we got there, on arrival and while we were there. You definitely want to get a Jeep/4wd for this property because the drive to the property is steep there and back (no walking) but so is much of the island. The home offers kitchen, living, dining and 2 A/C master bedrooms (king size) with separate bathrooms first floor, 1 A/C master bedroom (king) and a A/C bunk bed room (twin top, queen) that share a bathroom second floor, third floor offers a rec room (no A/C), bathroom, pool. We used the first floor majority of the time since there was just 4 of us. Kitchen has all the utensils, plates, and cups that you will need for your trip. You will have to purchase condiments, coffee, and food separately. The fridge does have an ice maker, we bought extra ice for drinks. Stove, Microwave is included. Dining room table for at least 6 people and a table on the patio. Living room offers a sectional couch, they have DishTv and Netflix for nightly TV time. They have an outside grill but we never used. You are close to another home, but we never heard them while we were there. The pool is small and not much sun hits it, so the water is cold and not much time to layout unless you get up early in the morning (our only complaint but we like warm water and lots of sun). With that said, you are about 10min to many beaches that are awesome. Trunk Bay, Salty Pond, Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Hansen Bay were our favorites. Home offers beach chairs/coolers. Home is located in Coral Bay which is much smaller and more low key than Cruz Bay. There are restaurants that are just down the hill from the home (Salty Mongoose-pizza, WoK on beach-chinese, Skinny Legs-Burgers, all three have bars but close at 11pm and usually closed Sun/Mon, service is island time and drinks are pricey. Cruz bay is about a 30min drive and have more options. There are 3 SMALL grocery stores that have almost anything you need. We went there for beer, wine, liquor, food, snacks, ect. The LimeOut taco bar is in Coral Bay which you can see from the home. We took a boat trip with FlyAway Charters (ask for Moss) our last day and stopped there on the way back. We felt very safe and not like a tourist. Talk to the Locals for favorite locations and Enjoy!

Beautiful views

My husband and I stayed at Island Horizons in November 2021. A very big house for just the two of us but we booked it for the views, the pool, and the privacy. The views were unbeatable, as was the privacy. There is a neighbor next door but you would never know it, the property is completely private and surrounded by beautiful greenery. The house was very clean and has everything you could possibly need. The king size bed on the top level was incredibly comfortable and the AC strong. For some reason this is the only bedroom in the house without blinds so it’s bright in the morning. We tried sleeping in the 2nd floor master bc it was darker and we wanted to sleep in but it wasn’t as comfy as the top floor master so we moved back. Overall, the house is clean, comfortable, well-appointed and private with unbeatable views. Things to know: The pool was a let down. We were really looking forward to dips in the private pool but it just wasn’t clean. After the cleaners came on their designated day we checked and they didn’t even clean the filter so we had to get in touch with the management company. You definitely need a jeep/4 wheel Drive for this driveway. Also, don’t count on a taxi picking you up. We wanted to take a taxi to Cruz bay on Saturday night so we could both drink. We called over 6 taxis and only found 1 with 4 wheel drive to get down the driveway and after waiting almost 2hrs it finally got cxled bc he couldn’t find the house. But on the plus side the house has good Bluetooth speakers so we were able to create our own fun nights there.

A week in paradise.

This is a great property. It is beautiful, very comfortable, up to date and well maintained. The views of Coral Bay and surroundings from all three floors are outstanding. The owner's representatives were great! They were never intrusive, but always only a text or phone call away if we had any questions or needed anything. I highly recommend the property and we plan to go back at our first opportunity.

Amazing View of Coral Bay

The view from Island Horizons of Coral Bay and the BVIs is amazing! The villa was beautiful, well-appointed and very clean. We spent our mornings and evenings enjoying the view from the deck and during the day we hiked and snorkeled on St. John's beautiful beaches. The location of the villa was perfect for us with easy access to Salt Pond, Hansen Bay, Francis Bay and of course Skinny Leg's. March 2020 Spring Break

Island Horizons is a beautiful property with an amazing view. The house has everything you need to have a great St. John vacation. Two weeks in July

Our family of 5 stayed in the home for two weeks. I found it to be comfortable and relaxing. I especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony and soaking in the view every morning and evening. Our stay was without any complaint. I am in the rental property business and will offer a couple suggestions to the owner and/or managers. First would be to sort through the kitchen supplies. Second would be to consider offering a rental jeep in conjunction with the property. I would have gladly rented my jeep from you instead of dealing with the rental places from town. Just seems like a lost opportunity to increase your rental income potential for the property. Thank you for a great two week stay.
