The Garden Cottage was a quaint and quiet place to stay. Located in the center of the village Gargunnock. It's location in the center of Scotland allowed us to travel in any direction to sight see. We especially liked visiting the Kelpies and Stirling Castle. We will definitely be planning to come back in the future and hope to stay here again.
What a lovely cottage! It had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Beautiful, quiet setting near Stirling.
We explored the jail and the castle. Took the train to Edinburgh (not a lot of parking at the station). Drove to the ferry to Isle of Arran (take your car if you can).
This cottage is in a great location for touring the Edinburgh/Glasgow area.
Lots of good things to say about this place. The history of it being a stable - charming. The smell of lavender planted near the entrance - charming. The sound of sheep bleating if you crack one of the many the windows - charming. Church and old cemetery next door - charming. Young deer visits daily just outside the dining/living area - charming. I docked one star on cleanliness because I found a pacifier under one of the beds and I know they allow dogs but the kitchen smelled like dog -less charming. One of the shower heads fell off but there are plenty of places to shower and I chalk that up to regular maintenance that just needs attention. If you plan to cook be prepared to improvise. The kitchen has very basic tools. Very driveable to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow while still offering a remote country location. Overall? Highly recommended.
A great place to stay for a family. We were a couple with 2 kids plus an aunt and there was room to spare. The kitchen is well equipped for making big dinners and the bedrooms are warm and comfortable - and all with en suite facilities.
The cottage documentation offers lots of ideas for things to do, and there are a number of good walks in the area, with impressive views and nature to explore.
