« I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! « Excellent hotel with good bar food and restaurant options.The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Next to good hiking trails in the beautiful Ribble Valley Only downside was the rooms on the ground floor get some noise from creaking floors from the rooms above. Last visit was particularly bad because there was a wedding reception so the noise from the floor above went on very late. »

« Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...

« Solo traveller - peaceful night in a very comfortable bed and spacious room. Cleanliness up to speck with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels. Wonderful breakfast with tasty locally sourced bacon. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve chosen the Derby Arms for a stay over now, for a fussy traveller it fits the bill beautifully! Central location for Longridge/Ribble Valley. »

« Room clean . Comfortable bed complimentary water . Biscuits and good selection of teas and coffee even hot chocolate. Staff amazing couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast amazing good parking plenty of spaces. The only downside for not very tall people the bath was quite high to get in to have a shower. Overall a lovely place to stay »

« Very friendly staff, nice big room (called falow), excellent breakfast, excellent evening meal staff very helpful sorting out a taxi for us, the room was warm due to heatwave so needed to keep windows open so we did notice some noise from the kitchen fans but this could not be helped. Very good car parking. Overall an excellent 2 day visit and would highly recommend. »

« Beautiful entrance and bar area however room very dated and old. Painted furniture had lots of scuff and scrape marks no telephone to call reception or order room service, no refrigerator. Pool was closed when we arrived (16.00). Gym very minimal. »

« The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean it just lacked air con and with a tiny bedroom window regardless on the heating not being on there was hardly and airflow within the room. Couldnt fault anything else had a lovely stay »

« Beautiful location with spectacular views. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated and the bathroom was stunning. Breakfast is very good and they offer both buffet and full cooked options. The things that let it down were more to do with the poor staff attitude that we encountered at Sunday lunch and when I tried to check into our room. They didn’t seem interested in helping us and didn’t get our stay off to a great start. »

« Quirky with some lovely staff in the evening in the restaurant. The gardens are also beautiful but small things could really enhance the hotel to get more from its potential. My stay improved after a few small disappointments. The room was warm and quiet. The meal on the second night was excellent (first night's green curry with poppadoms was less so and lacking in flavour). »

« Beautiful hotel, second time staying for one night, breakfast included, evening meal have to book separately which was easy to do. Everything about this hotel, location, availability of rooms, staff and food was truly amazing. We will be booking again, probably near Christmas time. »
