Every year our ski group heads up to Vermont from New Jersey. This year we had two rentals, a very budget rental for about 8 people, and this for 9. We were happy to be in the resort rental. This rental is located at the top of the resort. You enter from the main road, go past the hotel, past the spa, and past a bunch of other rental town houses. It’s a bit confusing the first time you enter as the signs are very small. Unfortunately, due to high winds, most of the lifts at Stowe were closed. We were refunded and to salvage the day we spent time at the nearby Alchemist brewery, playing console games we brought with us, and cooking at the rental. By the time we left the spa the next day we were all content with our trip.
The layout for the rental is not very clear looking at the photos. The master bedroom is on the top floor and has its own bathroom and a Jacuzzi. Across the hall is the bunk bed room which also has a pull out (we didn’t realize this until we were leaving) and its own bathroom. One floor down is the kitchen/ living room area. The mudroom is on this floor and there is a bedroom with the queen bed that has its own bathroom. Finally on the bottom floor there is the garage, and one room. This room has the two twin beds and the pool table. There is also a small couch in the pool table room.
The kitchen is very well stocked! I usually bring my own kitchen equipment, but all I needed from my kit was an extra large stock pot and a pair of tongs. I love gas burners, but hate the microwave/fan that starts up on its own. The dishwasher may be a bit tricky for some people. Program it with the door open and it’ll start when you close it.
The spa was great! We paid $95.40 when we arrived, and they allowed 7 of us to enter (the listing says 6 so that seems to be the safe number). The heated pools and indoor waterfall were great for relaxing before the drive home. I’m not sure if there are more lockers somewhere in the facility, but we used the family locker room. They are not very intuitive to use and some of them were broken. The showers only had glacial cold water.
My girlfriend slipped on ice as we were walking to the car outside. It is rather unavoidable, but do exercise caution.
We only had one key, and a garage opener. It was a bit difficult to coordinate 9 people coming and going with only two ways to open the door. It would be nice if the rental company gave out the keypad code for the garage door or at least 2 more keys.
