Eher enttäuscht.
Das Gebäude ist natürlich 523 Jahre alt, was aber nicht heißen muss, dass es heruntergekommen sein muss. Überall platzt die Farbe ab. Der Teppichboden ist absolut widerlich und die Zimmer sind zwar sauber, aber nicht schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück hingegen, war sehr gut. Halbpension kann ich nicht empfehlen, da man jeden Abend das gleiche bekommt. Ich finde es auch nicht, gerade kundenfreundlich für den Hotel Parkplatz extra zu bezahlen, obwohl die Nacht in diesem Hotel nicht gerade günstig ist (zwei Nächte 330 €) Das Personal im Restaurant ist wiederum stets bemüht und hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Im Großen und Ganzen hat es meiner Meinung nach kein vier Sterne Charakter, sondern eher zwei Sterne

Really handy for business visit.
Good parking. Good computer connections - a great improvement in WiFi since 2016. But like 2016, the breakfast arrangements are not too great. The breakfast staff are really overworked. At peak times there's just not enough room. Unlike the rest of the hotel this is the very opposite from personal service. But the rooms and other hotel staff - particularly reception during the day - are all top class!

While the manor house is picturesque and beautiful with the charm you would expect, the pictures are deceiving. This property is situated immediately adjacent to a main thoroughfare. Additionally the rooms are not in the manor house. The rooms are set apart in different building which are much more similar to a traditional hotel and are of quality equal to a Hampton Inn.

Me and a friend stayed here for the night for my 40th birthday. We were greeted by Amelia who was fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was lovely the location perfect and generally the staff were great. There was a very abrupt gentleman at front office in the morning but everyone else including the house keeping ladies were great. We had a treatment there and this was great too :) thank you

We stayed for a long weekend and had the best stay. We took our 2 year old and our miniature poodle. The hotel was really accommodating for both of them. It’s a great location, walkable to all the attractions and easy to park up. The hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little dated.

My overall rating would have been Higher if I had been in a different room. There was a noisy humming sound that went all night and it made it difficult to sleep. I also couldn’t open my window and get fresh air as smokers would stand near it and the smoke came straight into my room. The staff could be a little friendlier. However the young Man on reception who checked me in was lovely.

The hotel is rather dated and needs a but of investment, i have stayed in many historic hotels which are great but this seems to be stuck inbetween the 2 and for me doesn't work. The staff were all amazing and breakfast was very nice but the decor and rooms left a lot to the imagination. Also had issues with the computers to register the car and the shower gel and shampoo bottles were empty in the bathroom

How expensive the food & drinks were. Had to ask for the heating being put on in the room .The room was cold. Having to pay for the car-park daily is very bad But worse being asked to pay for the carpark on leaving ,I hadn't used the car park .Also being asked to pay for Continental breakfast that i hadnt had. The receptionist saying infront of other people in reception , that she'd got written down that id had tea & refused to pay for it. Obviously she had been misinformed, but it was no excuse for the rude way she spoke to me. The fact was it was my friend who ordered the tea ( she was under a different room number to me ) When the waitress informed us that we would be charged for breakfast we told her to cancel it, that we wasnt paying £18 for two cups of tea . The tea was never brought to the table. Apart from the recepton staff on leaving , the rest of the staff were really nice & polite. I doubt i would stay in a Macdonald hotel again.

Nice hotel, great location.
Lovely hotel, loved the main building which is very beautifully preserved to the Tudor period. We stayed in a standard double in the newer extension which was very tired, could have done with a make over but was very clean. The location of the hotel was perfect just a 10 minute stroll from the town centre.

Cold Uninviting Room
This was our third stay at this hotel but we wont be visiting again. We booked in at 1pm but understandably the room wasn't ready so we just registered our car registration and went into the town..all fine..We returned at 5pm to a freezing cold room..no heating on or working ..It was early February so some heating was needed. We turned the radiator on and all it seemed to do was make a noise ! I actually videoed how noisy it was !! Even the towel heater in the bathroom wasn't on... Reception told us to run the water in the bathroom and the towel rail would come on!! It didn't ..which was no suprise. Had a word with the manager and she basically said they had to keep the energy bills down as we noticed even in the corridors it were cold.. Swimming pool area nice ..so we had a swim and shower in the spa as the bathroom was too cold in the morning.. On a positive note..Bed was huge and comfy.

I got charged £7 to park but was only informed of the charge the night before our stay, and not when I booked. The swimming pool was far too cold. There was a surcharge of £5 for scrambled egg and smoked salmon and eggs Benedict, which is ridiculous!

Perfect base for RSC theatres - nice walk across the river and you are there. Only downside was felt a little rushed at breakfast.

LIKES: 1: We stayed on the top floor of the Coach House [the Hayloft]. The room was delightful: large, quiet, oak-beamed, clean, with a huge super-King double. 2: Reception was quick and friendly, and the Bar was quiet and comfortable 3: Breakfast was comprhensive; the eggs were done "just right". 4: The swimming pool and sauna were large and well-equipped. Right temperature; not too muc chlorine 5: The disposable slippers were a nice touch DISLIKES 1: No tea-making facilities in the room 2: Shower controls were incomprehensible, and didn't produce warm water 3: Carpets in public spaces were dull and tired 4: Many breakfast options were charged a supplement, on top of an already 'stiff' base price. 5: The dressing gowns provided were far too small. They didn't even cover my girlfriend,who is normal size 6: Parking was expensive, and far from the room. There were spaces close by, which we weren't told about OVERALL A four-star hote, that could - given the generally friendly and helpful staff - reach five star standards . . . . . . . were it not for the dead hand of MacDonald Hotels overall management

Tea and coffee making facilities are available in all bedrooms and are tucked away in the cupboard underneath the television in order to give guests more surface space. Lovely old building in beautiful grounds but in a totally convenient position for Stratford Upon Avon town. The staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived.
