Some ski weekends are about the mountain. The best ones are about what happens after. Long Trail House 151 is the cozy one — the condo couples come back to. You're two minutes on foot from Stratton Village, so the day starts with first chair on 99 trails, not a shuttle line, and ends fireside while the hot tubs steam outside. This is a one-bedroom, one-bath retreat built for the ritual: boots off, a soak in the year-round hot tubs (or the heated pool and sauna), then dinner in or out — the Fire Tower's Ahi nachos, tacos at Bar 802, or a proper night at Grizzly's, home of Stratton's liveliest après scene with weekend live music, all an easy stroll through the Village. When you're not skiing, there's 12 km of snowshoe trails at the Nordic Center, night tubing at the Coca-Cola Tube Park, and ice skating at the Mill House. Summer brings the scenic gondola to southern Vermont's highest peak, 27 holes of championship golf, lift-served mountain biking, and free Saturday concerts. Small, warm, and romantic — this is the one you book when it's just the two of you.
WINTER AT STRATTON
December through March is what this condo was made for. Eleven lifts and 99 trails cover every ability level, and you're staying two minutes from it all. Mix in a night-tubing session at the Coca-Cola Tube Park (book ahead — it sells out), a snowshoe trek through the Nordic Center's groomed trails, or an afternoon skate at the Mill House. December brings the "In a Pickle" rail jam; New Year's Eve means the big party and buffet dinner at Grizzly's. Then back to the fireplace.
SUMMER & FALL AT STRATTON
Warm-weather Stratton is the local secret. Ride the gondola to the summit, play 27 holes of championship golf, or drop into the lift-served bike park. Free Saturday concerts run July 4 through Labor Day, and October's HarvestFest brings the brewfest, farmers market, and unbeatable foliage. The pool, hot tubs, and sauna stay open all year — made for slow couples' weekends.
