The Stillhouse — Gemütliches Vintage-Haus

The Stillhouse is a cozy, slightly quirky historic home with tall ceilings, lots of natural light and plenty of little spaces meant for actually enjoying your time here. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one king and two queens, plus one bathroom with a classic clawfoot tub.

Downstairs, the living room has a 65” TV and plenty of room to settle in for a movie night. The adjoining historic dining room is one of my favorite spaces in the house, with a big wooden table made for long dinners, games (provided), puzzles or morning coffee.

There’s also a music corner with a record player and vinyl collection “Play Parlour” stocked with arts + crafts, puzzles, tarot cards, children’s books and other things for guests of any age who feel like making something or playing for a while. Any vinyl, books, materials scattered throughout the home are accessible to respectful guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday cooking, and the adjoining scullery has a full coffee + hot chocolate bar with a Keurig, basic coffee pot, K-Cups and the fixings provided. There’s also a walk-in pantry with plenty of storage.

Outside, the large wraparound porch has multiple places to sit, lounge, read or have coffee, plus an outdoor seating area and propane grill. The backyard also has a campfire ring with chairs.

There are two off-street parking spaces in the back and plenty of safe street parking in a quiet, friendly lakeside neighborhood.

This house means a lot to me. It’s a cozy, loved home with character, color, plants, books, vintage pieces and lots of personality. My hope is that it feels a little like a home away from home while you’re visiting town.
