Hotels nahe Sweetheart Abbey (Dumfries)

„Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Weniger Verpackungsmüll beim Frühstück wäre schön. Ansonsten alles gut.“

„Hotel is not maintained well. Room is more or less clean. Only little dust. Everywhere scratches at the wall. Not working lamps. Mold in the shower as the air system is not working well in the bathroom. Restaurant is a desaster. The food is ok - nothing special. But the staff is not capable at all to manage the restaurant. Dirty tables, long waiting times, do not remember what you have ordered. And the restaurant is expensive on top. Never again.“

„We stayed just the one night. The staff were very friendly and eager to provide good service. We enjoyed a pleasant drink on the lovely patio overlooking the river followed by a tasty meal in the bar. Breakfast was excellent . Our room was fairly basic with quite a small ensuite . The WiFi was good. We were pleased with our stay which represented good value.“

„The hotel is very nice, with lovely rooms and beautiful surroundings. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, although they often had to juggle multiple roles at once, which sometimes made them difficult to find. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, and if I return to Castle Douglas, I would happily stay here again.“

„Die Dame, die uns empfangen hat, war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir durften 2 h vor der offiziellen Check-in-Zeit unser Zimmer beziehen. Das erste Wort, das mir zum Hotel einfiel, als wir davorstanden, war „Spelunke“. Es sieht von außen recht heruntergekommen aus. Passt aber somit gut ins Umfeld. Der Hinterhof/ Parkplatz wurde des nächtens von laut herumschreienden Betrunkenen als Heimweg benutzt. Gut, wenn man neue schottische Schimpfwörter lernen will! ;-) Ruhe und Erholung findet man hier ...

„Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.“

„The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly ...

„A great location with Lovely staff:)“

„Arrived for 4pm check in called two different numbers no response on either , eventually got someone and got checked in at 5 pm place was freezing and was informed that the boiler was broken so no heating or hot water, place looked like it was decorated back in the 70's and never been touched since , was told to leave out door open and they'd put a heater in room for us which thankfully we didn't as was later told that place is used to home the homeless and immigrants so both our friends and ...

„This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area.“

„Wunderbares Zimmer, exzellentes Essen “

„Property located in peaceful location. Not much in the walking distance. You can walk to local pub in about 25 minutes. We drove everywhere. Very nice beach in 6 minutes drive. “

„Room was clean room and Staff very hospitable and a Business-friendly environment although location is a bit off road but accessible. Will patronize again when going to Scotland“
