The parking lot needs a new pavement. The breakfast was very poor compared to other Hampton Inns. No juice, other items not replenished

The check in clerk was very professional and helpful! Went above and beyond unfortunately I didn’t get her name! We had a late check-in so she worked the afternoon shift! Pillows could be a bit more comfortable tho!

My stay was a great experience. Only stayed for one night but was impressed with the room comfort, cleanliness and decor. Did not sample the other amenities….. The staff member who checked me in was great, the one checking me out was perfunctory at best. However, from the point of view of a semi-disabled person, there was some real challenges, the parking lot was potholed and extremely uneven around the disabled parking spaces, the tub was incredibly slippery so I could not shower afraid that I would fall. The bathroom was well set up for a disabled person so that was a great disappointment. All told it was a delight after staying at the “hotel across the street”…. I would stay there again and would recommend it.

Poor experience
While the facility appeared fine, the breakfast was good, and most features in the room were up to date, I would not recommend. The hot tub was not operational, there were no curtains in the room, the phone to the front desk barely worked, the bed was hard, and the handle for the shower was barely on making it hard to use. When reported to the front desk to let them know to look at it AFTER we checked out, they immediately sent a maintenance worker to the room who did not knock and entered the room while I was changing and I had to raise my voice to tell him to get out while he tried to continue to go fix the shower. This was not a good experience and the final straw for writing a not so pleasant review. The other items are annoying. The having to ask someone to leave after not knocking while I’m naked, not okay.

This hotel is amazing! Every single staff member we met was extremely friendly, helpful and just so nice! The breakfast was incredibly delicious and there were plenty of hot and cold options you don’t usually see. The room was super clean, comfortable and well taken care of. Not sure why people said the hotel needs an upgrade, that was not the case. The pool was amazing and nice and warm and great for doing laps. We brought our two small dogs and the room was also loved by them. The staff is VERY dog friendly and always greeted them with a smile This is the only hotel we will ever stay in when we come back to Taos. I highly recommend staying here. Thanks for an AMAZING three days!

The hotel was ok at first, checked in asked for a later check out because my daughters wanted to go swimming. The front desk lady said no problem and put a note on our reservation. My daughters decided they wanted to go swimming, I called the front desk because there was no signage to find the entrance to the pool. The lady that answered said that that we could go swimming but the furnace got the pool hadn't been working for WEEKS and there was a crack in the foundation so the hot tub was out of order as well. My daughters tried to swim but it was easy too cold and I'm not sure why I wasn't told at check-in that the pool wasn't working properly when I told her the whole reason we wanted a later checkout was to go swimming?? We went back to the room to call it a night and take a shower. The shower is broken, I still have know idea how I turned the water on as the knob would just spin. It was stuck on cold water and would not turn off. Baked the front desk again.... She said that this is a COMMON problem in many of the rooms. Told me the truck to change the temp and turn it off and only offered to change rooms if the water was stuck on hot. If I had another option I would have moved to another hotel. They couldn't refund me since I booked through hotels.com. This made what was supposed to be a fun family trip to be a disappointment with very sad little girls who just wanted to swim.

Needs major improvements
We’ve stayed here before and it wasn’t this bad before. A few things that made our stay unpleasant. The room smelled bad like sewer and was stale, there were plugs that didn’t work, the shelves falling off the wall in the bathroom, the bed sounded like it was going to break every time you got in and out of it, handle broken off on a drawer next to the bed. The bathroom door had no handle to get it open if you closed it all the way. There was no body wash in the shower (looked like there was a place for it). The indoor pool was ice cold and you had to walk in the snow to get to it. Luckily someone told us it was ice cold before we got in. The whirlpool was closed and fenced off. The breakfast was average and no gluten free options. We could only get 1 extra towel when we asked. There is a huge hole right outside the back door that was covered with a loose metal plate. This property is in desperate need of upgrades, the pool needs to have an enclosed entry directly from the hotel, not out in the cold.

Clogged sink, pool closed, no service.
Our sink was clogged the entire 3-night stay. The water in the sink stunk, and the front desk staff kept giving excuses about why maintenance hadn’t shown up. The carpet was nasty dirty, our remote control didn’t work, and the pool and hot tub were closed the entire stay with no notice online or in the lobby. We couldn’t be moved because rooms were sold out, but no solution was offered to us for not being able to use the sink and for the bacteria that was making it stink, due to that sink being obviously clogged long before we ever got there. No solution was ever offered for us not being able to watch tv either. We couldn’t just leave because the whole town was sold out. There was never a manager onsite in three whole days according to front desk staff, but upon checkout, we were told the manager had left at 3:00 am and we could email him. We did email that same day, and as of today - 5 days later, he has not responded.

I would avoid this hotel at all costs. We paid $299 per night for a run down, shabby, noisy, stinky room. We were given a main floor room (although we requested a top floor away from the elevators) and were told this was the LAST room available. The room was located just feet from the noisy lobby and the hall smelled of marijuana smoke. The room was shabby in every way. Being on the main floor, the window was very low to the exterior ground (super easy for someone to break in or peer in) which made us feel very unsafe...and on top of that, the "window" covering was a BROKEN roll up shade that didn't even fully cover the sides of the window!! I had to hang a blanket over the BROKEN window shade for privacy!! And the blanket had a large hole in it!! The bedding was old,the sheets were stained, the walls/ceilings were peeling, the furniture was cheap and dinged up, the carpet squares were coming apart at the seams. Whenever the guests in the room next door shut their room door, our bed shook! Every single noise from all surrounding rooms, the busy street, as well as the hallway was amplified. Although we had paid for TWO nights, we left after our first night.
