Lovely casita
This was our third time staying at this lovely property, and we found it as charming as ever. The owners and property manager are a pleasure to work with, providing prompt and clear communication. They went above and beyond to welcome us and to provide helpful local recommendations. The adobe is beautiful inside and out. Full of fine art throughout including pottery, paintings, rugs, furniture, and its own architecture. The home is peaceful and private and yet just a few blocks from the plaza galleries, shops, and restaurants. We typically eat-in and found the kitchen to be fully-equipped. Thanks to the owner's suggestion, we had a great hike in the Wild Rivers area north of Taos with spectacular views of the Rio Grande Gorge and the confluence of the Rio Grande and New Mexico's Red River. We also enjoyed daily walks and runs on the Rift Valley Trail system just south of town (accessed at Upper Slide Trail parking lot). The home is so lovely and inviting, even with all Taos has to offer, we spent many happy hours reading and working in the adobe and its private patio. We work remotely and find it the perfect "office" including reliable wifi (handled a 5-hour Zoom meeting without blinking). Staying here greatly enriches our entire Taos experience.

Beautiful casita.
Just beautiful. Traveling across country and needed to sleep and watch the superbowl. My stay was great. The fireplaces were wonderful after driving in a snowstorm up in the mountains. Felt like a place i called home.

Love this property
We absolutely loved staying here. It is such a sweet place and a short walk to the Plaza makes the location perfect. The house was clean, well stocked with essentials, the bed is super comfy, and the towels are thick and yummy. We will be back, for sure!

Terrific Little House in Taos
My wife and I stayed in this house in mid-October, when we went to Taos at the very end of the fall season. This wonderful little one-bedroom house has everything you could want, from laundry to dishwasher, from WiFi to satellite TV. And the check-in process was as easy as it could be. I highly recommend this house for a couple. It’s a great base for exploring the Taos region.

Great Location
We loved our stay on at this quaint adobe style house so close to the Taos Historic District. The home was very private with a large courtyard. Very nicely decorated. Kitchen was well stocked and the bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

Love La Posada
Definitely a favorite on our vacation- clean, spacious and quiet- what more could you ask for?!?! The best feature- the awesome patio! We sat out there as much as we possibly could, enjoying our drinks, food and the fantastic weather. Easy walk to the Plaza and the surrounding area. Highly recommend La Cueva Cafe for dinner (we carried out), the Alley Cantina for drinks and 5-Star Burgers (not in walking distance) for lunch. And be sure to visit the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and take the drive up to Taos Ski Valley. The drive into Taos on 64 was very scenic too. We would most certainly stay at La Posada again.

Fun and interesting place to stay in Taos
I liked the courtyard and seeing the chickens and turkey! The appliances were all very good. It was well appointed too. The plumbing is older so we were a little careful. Overall we had lots of fun there. Plenty of storage too. We felt right at home.

Tucked back into small neighborhood, this place is quiet and relaxing. Close enough to the plaza area and restaurants to walk but far enough away to get away from all of activities. Very comfortable with updated furnishing. Our only suggestion for improvement would be a more robust stocked kitchen.

Great Casita Near the Plaza
We really enjoyed our stay at the Posada de Taos casita. It was obvious that the owners/managers have invested time and effort into the condition of the house and the artwork displayed on the property. Everything was clean and well maintained. The patio area was great for morning coffee, guitar practice and meals. All appliances and fixtures worked well. The walk to the plaza was quick although a little harrowing to start since there are no sidewalks on Manzanares St but smooth sailing after a 1/2 block. We'd recommend a stroll down Ledoux street for the galleries and breakfast at Michaels. We definitely recommend this property and would stay there again when in Taos.

Nice Old Home, Misleading Posting
This home is nice and quaintly decorated. It’s a very old casita that has been flipped to accommodate more modern living. However, it was not at all as expected based on the posting and property ratings. Upon arrival in February, there was no heat on in the home. It was 55 degrees. The only way to heat the home was through two gas lit fireplaces, one of which had a pilot light out. We had to call the property manager to assist with the relight. While the source of heating wasn’t the issue, it would’ve been nice to have the property manager turn on the heat prior to our arrival. Especially knowing that it would take over an hour to reach a comfortable interior temperature. Sitting in jackets and hats in the interim was not ideal. Due to its age, the home had a strong musty, mold smell. I have asthma and within 15 mins of being in the home, my breathing was already agitated. There was no way I could stay in that home overnight, so we decided to not stay at the property within 45 mins of arrival. We had booked for 3 nights. Despite politely asking the property manager/ owners for a partial refund for the 2 nights we didn’t stay at the property, they declined. While I understand that our booking created a potential for them to miss another booking, I was very disappointed at the lack of understanding and accommodation given the circumstances out of our control (asthma). Not a bad property, just not at all as expected and may not suit all.

I’m very sorry Christine that you were unhappy with our place. I’m the owner and I personally turned up the heat before your arrival , the pilot light did go out and therefore it was colder than it should have been . To say that that the two gas fireplaces are the only source of heat is simply not true we have two mini splits , that provide heat as well as air conditioning . We didn’t “ flip “ this property to accommodate more modern living , it was lovingly restored , it’s over 150 years old , it’s what many people are looking for when they visit Taos , we’re not your normal community , Taos is so very unique to this country. . To say that we are “quaintly decorated “is rather insulting , unfortunately I think you had no idea what you were looking at! The art comes from our personally curated collection. If you have a health condition , it really falls on you to ask more questions about a property before booking , perhaps a more sterile environment would be more appropriate for you.

Private, easy walk to the Plaza. Patio was the place to drink coffee in the morning. Very comfortable furniture. Plenty of room for the 2 of us. One small problem which was taken care of promptly. I would come back next time we go to Taos.

A Taos experience
The L shaped Casita and courtyard are lovely. The bedroom is comfortable and quite. The living room area gives you plenty of room. The kitchen has all you need. The washer and dryer worked well. We sat out on the patio and read in the morning while we drank our tea. The neighborhood cat kept us entertained at times. The inside of the Casita is simply beautiful. A short walk to the Plaza.

Hidden Gem
Taos, perched on its mesa west of the Rio Grande gorge at the foot of the Sangre de Cristos, is known for its rich art-colony history, a unique new-age vibe, and, for a select few, its mysterious Hum. It would be a shame to visit the place and stay in a sterile, chain-motel box of the sort you find all over the country. Rather, what’s indicated are accommodations that steep you in the place and make you feel a part of what makes Taos so special. “Little Juanita,” as the owners call this one-bedroom casita, does that quite nicely. Hidden away on a quiet, dead-end side-street, about a ten-minute stroll from the downtown plaza, this stand-alone, vintage adobe has been completely updated to be fully functional while still retaining its authenticity. It offers a large and well-equipped kitchen in the main room, which is separated from the bedroom and its wonderful premium linens by a hallway. The L-shaped building encloses a very private flagstone patio that has a gas grill plus table and chairs for outdoors dining under the piñons and junipers. Maybe the next time we’re in Taos, we’ll hear that Hum. In any case, Little Juanita will be our first choice of where to stay.
