Beautiful view, but unfortunately, almost everything else about this stay was disappointing. The listing claimed private river access, but that was not true. It took nearly five days of repeated calls before someone finally showed me where I was “allowed” to go — and it turned out to be nothing more than a rough path through thick weeds. On my very first attempt to find it, I ended up covered in chigger bites. Needless to say, we didn’t get to enjoy the river as advertised.Adding to the discomfort, the neighboring property felt hostile. A man frequently sat in the woods watching us, drove around on a four-wheeler, and even shot guns nearby. It was unnerving enough that we didn’t feel safe having a simple fire at night.Vacasa’s property description was misleading and their customer service responses were frustratingly generic, even bordering on absurd (at one point they told me the “lake water is low and may be hard to see” — even though there was no lake anywhere nearby, just a river).In short, while the cabin itself was great, the misleading listing, lack of real river access, and uncomfortable neighbor presence made this a disappointing and stressful experience. The owners offered a 25 day consultation. I found this to be unacceptable.
