„We had a rather mixed experience at Wenns Chop & Ale House. While the location was great and the restaurant offered some great options, the room left much to be desired. The disappointment began when we entered our room. What we have booked was advertised as a deluxe apartment on Hotels.com. The pictures on the platform had promised a spacious room with a comfortable sofa and an impressive bathtub in the middle of the room, along with a view of the minster. „On a passé deux nuits pour aller-retour en Ecosse. Cet hôtel est situé dans un petit village au calme mais pas très loin du centre ville. Les chambres sont propres avec des meubles et une décoration très chic, le lit est assez grand et confortable. On a aussi dîné dans leur restaurant, c’était délicieux. Le meilleur c’était le petit déjeuner anglais, c’était excellent. Ils ont aussi un parking gratuit, c’est appréciable, je recommande! “

„Birthday stayover, we attended the Apex for a music event. The Fox had ample free parking, early book in, lovely walk into town via ruins gardens. Room was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay again and i would recommend“

„We had a good sized apartment which had cooking facilities and a fridge. The bed was really big and comfortable. No issues apart from the fact that they weren’t open on Monday. The bathroom sink was too small and the overhanging cupboard made it difficult to avoid hitting your head when washing your face! „Easy check in. Lovely big room. Very clean with a huge bed a compact but adequate bathroom. Loved the in room continental breakfast. In all, a very comfortable nights stay and would definitely stay again.“

„Lovely location. We were given a room in the courtyard, nicely decorated with simple furnishings. Tea,coffee and milk provided but no bottled water, which would usually be expected. The bathroom was adequate but the shower grouting was a bit grim. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service, the beer garden was lovely.“

„We had a lovely one night stay in the Warren room, it was very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, two small notes, there is no accessible plug socket near the right hand side of the bed & the TV was not working while we were there but that wasn’t really a problem for us as we were out most of the time. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive.“

„The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.“

„The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped (modern gas cooker, TV, WiFi, books and games, large supply of basics e.g. sugar, tea, coffee, sauces etc.). We enjoyed the secluded garden overlooking the golf course and the frequent sightings of squirrels, moorhens, pheasants and deer.“
