"Ich mag Hotels mit Geschichte – und genau das hat dieses rund 125 Jahre alte Haus reichlich. Schon beim Betreten merkt man, dass hier nicht alles glattgebügelt und modernisiert ist, sondern dass das Gebäude noch seinen ganz eigenen Charakter bewahrt hat. Unser Zimmer war groß, hell und angenehm geräumig, ebenso das Bad – herrlich britisch mit Dusche in der Badewanne und getrennten Wasserhähnen für heißes und kaltes Wasser. Auch die Betten waren sehr bequem, und wir haben hier wirklich hervorragend geschlafen. Natürlich merkt man einem Haus dieses Alters an manchen Stellen sein Alter an: Da schließt vielleicht einmal eine Tür nicht ganz perfekt oder der Kleiderschrank lässt sich nur teilweise öffnen. Für mich gehört so etwas aber eher zum Charme eines historischen Hotels als zu den Dingen, die einen Aufenthalt wirklich beeinträchtigen. Besonders positiv fand ich die sehr freundlichen und herzlichen Betreiber. Man merkt, dass hier ständig weiter renoviert, verbessert und Stück für Stück neues Leben in das alte Gebäude gebracht wird. Genau das macht den Aufenthalt für mich besonders sympathisch. Ein weiteres großes Plus ist das indische Restaurant im Hotel – das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt und mochte gerade diese Mischung aus Geschichte, Patina, Charme und sichtbarer Weiterentwicklung."
