Die Zeit, dass dieses Hotel 4* verdient hatte sind gute 40 Jahre vorbei. Die Lage ist top und auch nach einem Theateravend spät abends kann man ohne Probleme zurück laufen. Die Sicherheit ist wie in jeder deutschen Großstadt im wirklichen Zentrum und nicht in Seitenstraßen auch. Das Hotel selbst hat Zimmer, die seit den 80ern vermutlich nicht renoviert wurden. Sauber sind sie, aber die Handtücher haben teils Altersflecken. Zweimal hatten wir einen technischen Defekt am Fernseher. Einmal konnte der Techniker sie beheben, sein Kollege drei Tage später war weniger talentiert. Das Personal ist freundlich, kann aber nicht dagegen an, dass der Pool ein öffentlich zugängliches Salzwasser Becken ist, das furchtbar alt ist, keine Duschen in der Nähe hat und somit für Kinder nur bedingt geeignet ist. Mein Sohn war furchtbar enttäuscht. Parallel zum einzigen Aufenthalt seinerseits im Wasser fanden Schwimmstunden statt. Der nahm mehr oder weniger dasgesamte Becken ein, sodass für Hotelgäste eigentlich kein Platz war. Insgesamt wäre das Hotel nach deutschem Standard höchstens mit drei Sternen zu bewerten. Man zahlt ausschließlich die Lage und NICHT den Komfort. Man trifft durchaus die ein oder andere offensichtlich im Escort-Sektor arbeitende Dame im Aufzug, was vermutlich an der Nähe zum Rotlicht-Viertels liegt. Das Frühst. ist gut. Für einen kurzen Städtetrip würde ich wieder hierabsteigen, für einen komfortablen Familienurlaub bei dem das Hotel top sein soll eher nicht.

We both thought the room was very small. The bathroom was also tiny and the bathtub felt uneven to stand in and looked like it was patched with paint. Overall, the room seemed clean enough, but for the price, we expected something nicer and a bit larger. The location was great, though.

Overall good experience except the hotel had issues with the fire alarms (no ringing, just flashing) on two nights, which took a while to resolve and at one point kept me outside for more than half an hour.

Hotel was nice but the F&B is not very knowledgeable. Asked for vegan menu and was brought gluten free one and when asked again they said that is their vegan menu even thou there was meat on it so staff clearly don't understand basic dietary requirements.
