« Beds and pillows were very comfortable with really soft sheets. I’m not sure about amenities- we didn’t have a chance to use the pool area due to maintenance. The staff never mentioned anything about a breakfast and we had to leave early so never checked to see if one was available. Only negative was having a room right by the elevator and ice machine which you could hear. »

« Snowmobile trip with family and friends. Location was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast and pool were also great. »

« I love staying at the Iowa House when I visit my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus, definitely within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and cool. The dining room always has something to eat at all hours. Breakfast in the mornings are always good. I even got a text asking if I would be eating breakfast. The staff are great and very accommodating. When I go to Ames, this is the first place I look to stay. »

« The hotel was nice with a large refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. Nice space for guests to sit on couch. Only downfall was that we didn’t get maid service on our 2 night stay. We didnt have a tag up saying no room service annd when we came back later in the day, no one had cleaned the room. We did ask for when we got back but it but it was later in the day and they were already gone. »

« Room was clean. Beds very comfortable. Swimming pool area was a little scary. The bar to hold onto to get into the pool actually came off in the hand of my guest when they were going in the pool. When we told the clerk she said she was aware and would remind maintenance. No sign, no warning. The staff were extremely friendly except we had a problem checking out. I was told my card declined and I had to pay for the rooms. I had already paid through Expedia. But my card got charged again. When I...

« The room was clean, but dated. Pool and hot tub were nice, my kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast wasn’t very good, we had eggs which were tasteless and biscuits and gravy also not very good. The stay was quiet and we slept pretty good. »

We booked this particular hotel because we wanted to have the option to have an indoor pool. I called beforehand and asked about the condition of the pool and if if it was open. « Don’t bother. We had to stay here for a baseball tournament and I honestly cannot believe they would offer this as a hotel option. It looks nice from the photos online but the place is a dump. They have updated certain things, like the front desk, to make it look fresh and new but as soon as you walk down the hallway you can tell they really haven’t done anything. The carpet has to have been there since the 80’s. The second floor has no air conditioning in the hallways so it is extremely hot in...
