This was a wonderful family property and I felt safe and comfortable here. I would say it’s a 2 star hotel and it was affordable. If you have a lot of luggage or if you want to be driven in a car to the door, this is not a place for you.

This property is an absolute steal considering how much you will save on transportation if you're someone who doesnt mind walking a few km here and there. There are many places to shop and eat, some critically acclaimed,and some secret gems. The hotel itself is located down a friendly market alley where welcoming vendors are set up along the sides. The personnel on site are awesome and Manek, their driver, offers very honest prices, and will share his knowledge with you along the way, like an impromptu tour guide without the hefty pricetag. His car is new, clean, and hes a great driver. He is also deeply rooted in the ubud community, and can make recommendations if you need. I would choose nowhere else to stay. That being said, the room had a very slight odor, which seems normal to many places in Bali because of the humidity. All in all, aurora house can offer you a room for a great price in an amazing location, and hospitality that money can't buy. Five stars for the heart and vibe.

Just cheap, it’s not reasonable
There are big cockroaches in the room. Towel and bed sheets are very old like dust cloth and pillows are very smelly. I smelled durian every morning. Staff there were friendly but not supportive. They are good at saying sorry.

Though this property was highly rated, I was in room #9 and the sink in the bathroom had no running water, there was no soap or trash bin, and there was no staff around to assist. It was also difficult to find with poor signage, and a different location than Google maps took me.

La chambre numéro 11 n'étais pas la meilleure. Elle est humide et l'air dans la salle de bain encore plus. On a décidé de dormir dans nos sac de couchage a la place. Nous ne connaissons pas l'état des autres chambre, mais petit conseil: si la chambre vous semble humide, demandez en une autre. Sinon l'emplacement est parfait, en plein milieu de la ville et tout près des attractions d'Ubud. Encore une chose: pas de savon.

Der er det du skal bruge, men…
Sengen, dynerne og puderne lugtede surt, hvilket indikerer, at de ikke er blevet vasket LÆNGE. Derudover blev der ikke gjort rent, der var pletter på væggene og den første nat fik vi et rigtigt dårligt værelse, fordi de var kommet til at dobbeltbooke sig. Den hørte vi dog igen fra en anden, hvilket virker lidt mystisk i vores øjnene. Der er det du skal bruge, men lækkert er det ikke. Det skal dog siges fællesgården er flot og hyggelig og de er meget flinke. Værelserne er dog ikke noget at råbe hurra for.

A family run accommodation with friendly staffs. The location is fantastic so convenience to explore market and plenty dining options. I think this accommodation is value for money but I found the bed (mattress) conditions are really bad so I won’t stay again.

For a cheap one night stay this place is great. The bed is on the harder side, which was fine for us. The aircon in our room worked really well. The door lock was only a padlock, so not the securest of rooms, but good enough for us. The family that own the compound had lots of pets, including a dog, a puppy, a cat and a turtle(!) which was fun. We did have to wait a little while to check in as there was no one there when we showed up, but we weren't in a rush. Note that the entrance is on a fork off of Jl Arjuna. From Jl Raya Ubud keep walking straight down Jl Arjuna and past where it turns to the left. You will see the entrance on the left shortly after.

Homely feel within an art market =))
Homestay was conveniently located within Arjuna Art Market. Walking distance to restaurants and convenience store. Rented vehicle for Ubud day tours to Tegallalang, Alas Harum, Tukad Cepung Waterfall, Kanto Lampo Waterfall and Pura Tirta Empul with owner Pak Manick. He is a friendly and helpful person (like a father, ahaha). Matur suksma.

I really like this hotel !! The location is perfect for walking around city centre of Ubud and easy to find foods even close to starbucks by walking :) i love it. The room is very nice plus the bathroom is clean.

Good spot to be in Ubud. The single rooms are good enough for the small amount of money the double rooms are a lot nicer but a bit noisy. The beds are comfortable and clean. Manick and the starve are very accommodating so overall pretty good really!

They do overbooking. I made a reservation and paid by Hotels.com. When we arrived hotell was full. We were guided to louysy and cheaper hotel near by. They seems to ignore when I say that it is not ok. Got room at this place for second night but not any deluxe as adverticed. My recommendation is do not pay in advance, you may end up cheated as we did.
