The rooms & hotel facilities are of a good standard and the hotel is in a convenient location.
The breakfast service was very poor during the majority of our stay and really let the hotel down. It did not meet our baseline expectations of a 5 star hotel (or even a hotel of a much lower star rating). Perhaps they are very under staffed.
We had issues with very slow service, items that did not arrive, severely overcooked items (e.g very burnt, black pancakes that had been flipped over and hidden under garnishes in an attempt to disguise how black they were), very under cooked items (e.g raw eggs). We ordered tea and coffee at the beginning of breakfast and it either arrived very late or not at all.
I somehow ended up very unwell with dysentry. Due to the above issues, we strongly suspect that the cause was the hotel breakfast.
Of note, on checking out of the hotel we were charged for items we did not use / order from the mini bar and from the restaurant. This was very early in the morning and our focus was on arriving on time for our early morning flight, and on conserving enough energy so that I would be well enough to travel after being so unwell. As such, I did not raise the issue at the time, but this type of thing really should not happen.
Unless the standard of service were to be completely transformed, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are certainly better options elsewhere in Valencia which is otherwise lovely.
