Rachel greeted us on arrival and showed us in. Exactly as stated on the web site. Clean, comfortable ( beds ) good showers. A lovely selection of welcome gifts. Fresh ground coffee & cafetière as well as pod machine. Lovely linen. The weather was mixed but the Byre always warm and welcoming on our return. Thank you

Ideal retreat
Perfect for holiday makers who seek: tranquility, style, fantastic views, top equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms and supersized beds, cozy modern living area ... and an extremely friendly and generous host. We had very relaxing holidays and enjoyed every minute when coming home from our excursions and bike trips on the IOW.

Hidden Gem - Cozy Cottage IOW
This beautiful holiday place, artistically converted from a barn to cottage won't disappoint you. The 10/10 reviews here do not exaggerate either. This is a hidden away gem in the countryside of IOW facing the west coast.
The serenity here is second to none yet at the same time it is not far from some of the greatest tourists hotspots.
From the master bedroom you can enjoy seaviews. Sitting around the kitchen table you may watch the sunset.
The place is beautifully decorated and very comfortable furnished. For added peace of mind there is even a small terrace where you can enjoy nature and the beautiful surroundings.
The hostess thought of everything that makes a holiday stay pleasant. In the living room there are even board-games to play and plenty guides on how to explore the IOW.
The Living room is tastefully decorated, The Beds are very comfortable, The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathrooms are spotless clean.
What more can you ask for? a true home away from home.
The hostess is welcoming nice and friendly

Relaxed family stay
Second visit to the Byre. Just right for 2 couples. All you need is provided. Great view. Quiet but good base to explore. IOW, swimming on East coast and other attractions not far. Recommended for a relaxed stay.

Perfect vacation on the Isle of Wight
The Byre was the perfect place to relax and to explore the island. The house is very comfortable and clean. Rachel is a very nice host, who gave us a lot of good advices and helped wherever she could.

Perfect place!
The Byre is a beautiful property. It was the perfect place for a rural, quiet stay. Rachel and Mark were lovely hosts. We felt at home as soon as we walked into the Byre. It is really well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. The weather wasn’t the best but having somewhere lovely and comfortable to stay made up for it. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property, excellent hosts.
The property was beautiful, spotlessly clean, well maintained, with everything to make it home from home. Very well kitted out kitchen, large fluffy bath towels, super comfortable beds and bed linen, and a sweet little terrace which was a sun trap. Lovely views from several of the windows, and lots of privacy. Rachel was a great host, supplying us with lots of recommendations, and a fan for the bedroom when the mini heatwave made it uncomfortably warm. Quite possibly the best Vrbo (and other platform) self catering we’ve stayed in since embracing staycations in the last 15 years. Should we return to the IoW I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful
This is our second stay at The Byre after first visiting 2 years ago and we were not disappointed. The property is very well looked after by the host, is in excellent condition and was spotless on our arrival. The Byre is located in a beautiful part of the island with stunning views from the coastal path. Rachel is very helpful, providing a list of things that were provided in advance of our stay and also updating us on a few events that were running while we were there. We were sad not to see any red squirrels this time - we'll be back!

Home from home rural bolthole
A thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, immaculate property which was equipped with all home comforts. It's location is in the best part of the island (although nowhere is far away on the IOW). We literally stepped inside and had everything we needed to begin a week of relaxation.

Wonderful, relaxing week in this delightful cottage
The Byre was so comfortable, spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and included everything we needed for our stay. Rachel was so friendly and helpful. We loved the location, tucked away down a quiet, pretty country lane but only a few minutes from the cliff tops and coastal path and within easy reach of anywhere on the IOW, including plenty of great places to eat. The views from the cottage over fields (with ponies) to the sea, The Needles and sunsets are stunning. We can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful location with beautiful views
We really enjoyed our stay at The Byre. The property was beautifully decorated in a modern style and we enjoyed spending time at the property as well as exploring the Isle of Wight. Rachel was available to meet us on arrival and sent a very helpful email in advance of our stay with information about the local area. A short drive to Compton Bay for fossil hunting and Black Gang Chine theme park which our two children (9 and 7 years old) both enjoyed. We also enjoyed dining at The Wight Mouse which is nearby. We would recommend this property to others.
