This is a beautiful house! We enjoyed our stay. The cleaness of the house was very poor excpet the 3rd floor living area. The staff at the management office especially Daisy was excellent !

It’s a beautiful house! It fit our family perfectly. The cleanness of the house was very poor. The 3rd floor living area was clean, the rest of the house lacked clean floors and bathrooms. Overall it was a great trip with friendly staff at the management office who made sure we had what we needed.

Great Home for Families

We stayed here to celebrate a 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and had plenty of space for the family to spread out. We were able to use the hot tub and fire pit, and both were a hit with the 20-something crowd.

Fall 2023 Birthday Bash

We had a great time at this place for our fall celebration! The house size and location were absolutely perfect! Admittedly the place could use a good deep clean to really get an A+. But if you have an easy going group who wants amazing views and easy access to the ocean and the bay then it’s absolutely perfect. We are that group so we had a stellar time and would love to come back.

In Love with Ocean Heart

This house provided everything that we needed for our family gathering. It has plenty of seating (indoors and out), plenty of kitchen supplies & appliances, and wonderful location! We had very few issues to report but when going to the Vacasa office, each was promptly addressed. Every encounter with staff was respectful, attentive and knowledgeable. The 24/7 availability is deceptive since there is no way to know when the text would be looked at by a human. We had a fabulous week together with incredible memories that were enhanced by the ease & comfort of being at Ocean Heart.

Actual amount of space was very good for our group of 18. That's one of the only positives about this tired and somewhat broken down property. There were wood boards between the sofas' cushions and springs, the hvac return was filthy--Vacasa sent some to clean it and the dirt was unbelievable; filter looked like it had not been changed in over a year. Dishwasher had not been emptied by the cleaning staff before we got there--good thing because it had not been run and by the looks of the mold on knives and plates it had been in place for a long time.

Ocean Heart Captured Our Hearts…Until

Ocean Heart was the perfect house for my adult only gathering. The home is perfect for entertaining; however, it needed a deep cleaning. All of the shower curtains had mold on them and I was assured by Kathy with Vacasa that new curtains/liners would be installed that day, but they never arrived and I received no other communication. The washer was filled with so much sand that it required two rinse cycles just to be able to wash clothing. I would also recommend an extermination outside for the spiders. The house is so gorgeous and we had a great time. It’s a shame that it wasn’t as clean as it should have been. A real cleaning and a little TLC is all this house needs to be perfect.

Large home but not enough living space

This house has plenty of bedrooms, nice back decks, great pool area, and plenty of dining space. However, there is only one main living room area. It’s not enough space for the bedrooms and many people have to sit at dining room tables or at the kitchen counter. It needs a major deep cleaning as there is mold in the upstairs bathroom, tile is loose and broken, ants live under the upstairs flooring. One bedroom on second floor has dry rotting floor by the wall with fungus growing. Door on second floor is rotting around the outside. The dock is nice for fishing but so much algae there isn’t much opportunity to fish. It’s a nice place but just needs a lot of work. Won’t stay here again.

Family Christmas

Pros: The owner allowed us to check in a few hours early which was great because We had 16 people there to celebrate our family Christmas. The layout of the house was very functional and I loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There was a lot of seating in the kitchen for all of us to eat together. The bathrooms were clean. The hot tub was enjoyable. Cons: Although the bathroom facilities were clean, the floors throughout the house including the bathrooms were not clean. The ceiling fans had about 1/4 inch of dust on them which flew around the room when the fans were turned on. We found quite a bit of dishes in the cabinets that were very dirty. There’s quite a bit of maintenance repairs that need to be done on this house. The floor boards under one of the bathtubs was very creaky when you stood in the tub. There were a lot of little things such as toilet paper holders falling off, kick plate under the kitchen sink falling off, rusted vent grates, rusted grill grates, etc. The biggest problem was the clogged kitchen sink. We did not call the property manager about this because luckily my husband is a certified plumber and was able to rectify the problem. He did however have to take apart and put back together the pipes under the sink to rectify the problem. I think with a deep deep cleaning and some maintenance repairs that this house could easily be a 5 star property.

Great views, needs maintenance

Pros: -The view! The view of the bay was absolutely breathtaking, and the pictures on the website don't do it justice. -Large common area with two large tables. Perfect to keep one as game and puzzle central while the other one is used for eating. -Each bedroom has a corresponding bathroom, which is convenient. -The proximity to the beach is less than 2 blocks and very convenient. Cons: -The two bedrooms (and bathrooms) plus the kitchen on the lowest level were completely unusable as the entire space was moist and smelled of mildew. On our first night at the house, we requested a dehumidifier or an air purifier, but one was never delivered. -The house wasn't very clean. When we first arrived, we noticed there was a lot of dust under the coffee table and dead bugs in many of the windowsills. We reached out and noted the issues with the cleanliness. The following day, a cleaning crew arrived, unannounced, to take care of the two issues. -We ended up vacuuming the entire main floor, because it seems like it hadn't been done. -The shower curtains were mildewed. On the second day we were at the house we called and told the management company we expected new shower curtains (6) and a dehumidifier by the end of the day. They confirmed they'd do so, but we didn't hear back. -All of the dishes we used we ended up washing before using because everything was just dingy. -We had no kitchen trash can. After reaching out to management about it they said they'd take care of it, but we ended up just having to scavenge around the property to find two trash cans that we used for the duration of the trip. Things that need to be fixed: -Stove on the left. The burners, even on low heat, are way too hot. -The stove vent fan is broken and incredibly loud when turned on. -Something is wrong with the dishwasher--even after the cycle the dishes were often covered with what looked like coffee grounds. -The dryer vent needs to be emptied--took quite some time to run a dry load. -The trees in the front of the house bang against the front of the house in the middle of the night. -There is clearly a lot of water damage to the home. We worried about mold. We definitely won't stay at this property again and we most likely won't stay at a Vacasa property again, which is unfortunate. It seems like this property has a lot of potential, but it definitely isn't worth the pricey cost with the underwhelming cleanliness and obvious water issues.

Looks Are Deceiving

The pool area out back is beautiful! This was the first time we visited Sandbridge Virginia and the first time we stayed on the bay side. It was relaxing outside. It appears that a lot of love was originally put into the home. The home is in need of some updates and many things need to be fixed. The entire home was very dirty....floors (a lot of sand), mold, ceiling fans (extremely dirty), woodwork, kitchen cabinets, refrigerators, dirty carpets in bedrooms and entry way. One of the bedrooms had black mold on the floor on the entire outside wall. The bedroom headboards were disgusting. Dogs are allowed and the previous guests must of had a very furry dog because dog hair was everywhere. The master bedroom on the top floor had a broken sliding glass door lock. A piece of wood was holding the door. Someone came out to look at it on Sunday but nothing was done about it. The back door on the second floor was losing the exterior molding and a large area was open to the outside. One of the bedrooms on the first floor had a dead lizard on the interior window. The first floor bedrooms had so many bugs on the windows. One of the bathrooms on the first floor had a horrible mold odor. The main ceiling vent on the third floor was disgusting! The shower curtain in the King bedroom on the 3rd floor had mold at the bottom of the curtain. The towel bars in the bathrooms on the 3rd floor are not attached well....the Queen bedroom towel bar had fallen off and we screwed it back. The toilet paper holder is located on same wall as the towel bar....right under the towel bar. Under the kitchen sink, it appears that is frequently leaks...it was awful looking under the sink. We didn't use anything under the sink at all! Live plants are in the main living area which are not being taken care of. Tiny bugs were flying around the plants. When we arrived there was a major storm. The water was pooling in the front of the house which made it difficult to get into the home. The water went right up to the house.....a few inches deep. As I stated earlier, the home has a wonderful backyard with pool, hot tub and firepit. The exterior of the home needs a major cleaning along with the inside of the home. I would think that with a management company now orchestrating the rentals, there would be an individual who would check all homes after they are cleaned and make sure all issues/repairs are addressed as soon as possible to keep the home safe and healthy for all!!!!!!!!!
