First time we stayed at the hotel. Initial impression was good, enjoyed some cocktails outside the front on the main part of the hotel in the sunshine.
The room (720) was nothing special - there was no iron/ironing board or hairdryer, and the bathroom decor was a bit disheveled - tile sealant was coming away and the floor tile paint was steadily chipping away where the bathroom door opened and closed. Otherwise bed was comfortable, quite liked the fact there was no TV in the room.
Hotel itself just felt like it needed a bit of a refresh - some stains on carpets in the halls, and mess not tidied up from night before to morning after, so I assume cleaners hadn't been round to that part of the hotel yet is all.
Outside grounds needed some care - grass needed mowing (appreciate it might have been left during May). and edges around the roads were all a bit overgrown with weeds. The raised vegetable boxes would be a nice feature if maintained properly, but again just looked a bit overgrown.
The dinner we had in the evening of our stay was delicious, but my wife would have preferred some better plant based options for breakfast - nothing mushroom or avocado based, which would be simple additions to the menu.
I think we'd try it again in a year or so, as it felt like improvements were being made, but it's a work in progress having taken the hotel over from the DeVere chain.
