I stayed at the Mitchell House 45 days as I was completing work before moving from the state. It was well-suited to my needs and close to my office, stores, and more. I enjoyed the quirkiness of the old house - its back screen door that slammed, the smooth wooden floors, the old doors with glass knobs and the screened-in porch. The house is well-outfitted and particularly suitable for a longer stay. Chris and Jade were responsive hosts. Thank you for allowing me to stay.
It would be nice if the porch light was left on and the house nights be lite since we arrived late. We had a difficult time finding the correct door and no light to get out the key. Departing instructions should be included in the rules and the information on getting hot water when taking a shower.
Our stay was as expected. The house was stocked with the essentials. We enjoyed our time and were able to bring our puppy along. Thanks to the Mitchellâs House!
The place is beautiful. Very close to restaurants and shopping. Nice quiet neighborhood. Yard is well fenced!! Safe for kids and pups. Nice view of the river. Host was very kind and easy to communicate with.
This house was perfect for our trip to Monroe. As the other reviews stated, don't let the neighborhood keep you from booking this house. The house is adorable and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and more. Chris answered every question we had and even recommended Trapp's Restaurant, which was just down the street. They had an outside deck overlooking the river and the food was amazing. Would definitely stay there again.
We loved the Mitchell House. My husband grew up in one of the neighborhoods behind the levee (It was a nice area when he was younger and is coming back around). We weâre able to walk to the local brewery and our favorite restaurant. We also went for evening walks to Lazar Park. The house was a perfect location. We rented a house but spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch. The home was beautifully decorated and clean. We will definitely be back to this home. Thank you for sharing it.
In truthfulness, when I got off the interstate, I was very skeptical about the location. But I stayed here for 4 nights and it was AWESOME, quiet, clean, I was able to work and pray with zero disruptions. Access to the levy so I could walk and think was awesome as well.
This was such a beautiful home. All the appliances and electronics worked well. The bath was beautiful, very large and clean. The home was well stocked and had nice appliances. This was so much better than any hotel!! Loved the hardwood floors and all the other vintage touches to the home. The host was super accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!
The property is charming. I grew up in WM and didn't know of the house. The owner has done an amazing job of remodeling. All was very updated and comfortable. Beds were extremely comfortable. House was immaculate.
Two things to consider but they are not biggies: some steps for the back bedroom bed would be nice and more mirrors. Since there's only one bath, more mirrors will allow prep time elsewhere. We did use the mirror in the formal dining room but no electrical outlets were there.
The owner communicated and was very attentive. We felt safe. We would go back, and it will be excellent for us when we go in to visit with family who are still in the area.
This is a cute little house with a front porch and backyard for visiting. Located right down the road from Antique Alley and a public.park. neighborhood behind the home is not great but no problems with direct neighbors. Home is very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
House and property were very nice. The bed is very comfortable. Nice fenced in back yard with uncovered patio. Property in good proximity to bridge into Monroe, but on the edge of old neighborhood. Nice house next door and pretty property on the other side with lots of privacy. Beautiful screened in porch but do know there is no view of river because of levee. Owner fabulous to work with.
