If you like creepy and history you must go here. The town of Weston is small, the Asylum is in the center of town. This place is very big, the tour took two hours and still did not see everything. We did experience some strange things like cold spots, being touched and a blinking ball that came out of no where. Ghost Adventures had just filmed their show at the Asylum before we got there. They had left tape X on the floors so they would not get lost in this huge place.
The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, subsequently the Weston State Hospital, was a Kirkbride psychiatric hospital that was operated from 1864 until 1994 by the government of the U.S. state of West Virginia, in the city of Weston.
A restored wing on the first floor. These would have have been single rooms until the population increased and they held 2-3 people each. The hallways and common areas were furnished in a way to make them look 'homey'. The residents in this wing would been the 'nonviolent' mentally ill

When we checked in the room smelled moldy and musty so we didn’t stay. It was a long drawn out process with Hotels.com to get my refund. I spoke with the manager who promised to refund the pet fee which was paid directly to the hotel but I didn’t receive it.

Everything was excellent. Specific directions to get there, clean, beautiful view, perfect weather, and the highest water pressure of any shower you’ve ever stepped foot in lol. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure.
