This was our first stay at Whistler and a VACASA-managed property, and both location and room exceeded our expectations.
There's lots of online travel info about Whistler and the region, so I won't go into detail here, other than to say it is a great place to visit in the late spring. The one tip I'll offer is that many trails at higher elevations (like Joffre Lake) were still snow-covered in later May/early June.
The room was located in the Cascade Lodge in the Village North Village. It's a short walk to the Village Stroll, Village Centre (without the noise of the bars and people walking by), and nearby trails.
The room wasn't spacious but large enough for our two-night stay. Everything else about the room and Cascade Lodge more than made up for it. It had a very well-equipped kitchenette with a small fridge, hot plate, microwave, 12-cup coffee machine, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. We had plates, cups, mugs, cutlery, and pots and pans. The added bonus for our unit was a washer & dryer.
The Lodge had a good-sized swimming pool, two hot tubs and saunas.
I've read lots of comments about the cost of parking. If you don't mind walking a bit, here's a tip shared with us. There's cheaper parking at the nearby convention centre ($5 a night) and free parking at Lots 4 & 5 - at least during the period that we stayed - early June.
We were very impressed with the VACASA staff onsite and all online touch-points with the company. We'll be looking at more VACASA properties in the future.
