« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« lovely place, nice rooms and bathrooms. lovely sea view from high floor room although it is alot of stairs to walk up.
Doors use a code to open which is easy to use.
Top floor room did get quite hot and only had one small roof window to open, a fan would be a helpful addition in summer months »

« Great location for getting around Whitby. Shame about lack of car parking. Shower drain in our room was prone to blocking. Concerned it might flood the downstairs. We did mention it to staff. Overall a pleasant stay. Might be an idea to mention the stairs leading to upper room as less mobile guests may struggle »

« Very clean room with a large bathroom area. Excellent breakfast and had meal in pub the evening before which was spot on. Was lucky to have a sea view and was awoken by a fantastic sunrise. »

« Room was clean although some area in bathroom need touching up. It was satisfactory for our short stay & reasonably priced.
Staff welcoming on arrival.
Great to have pub next door to get breakfast & dinner when needed. »

« Brilliant location. Everything was in walking distance and the black information folder was invaluable. Whilst contact with Emma and Dave was through E- mails, ultimately there wasn't a problem because we didn't encounter any. Finally myself and wife found it to be excellent value for money. »
