EnttÀuschendes Touristenhotel

Dieses Hotel verdient den Namen "Shangri-La" nicht! Weit ab vom Schuß. Inkompetentes Personal: uns wurde am Tag der Abreise das FrĂŒhstĂŒck verweigert, weil wir nicht auf der Liste der Inklusiv-GĂ€ste standen. Schlechtes Essen. Unelegant. Laut. Angeschrabbelte Zimmereinrichtung. Finger weg!

City hotel in Xian

It is called Shangri-La hotel Golden Flower and you expect "Shangri-La" standards, but the hotel hasn't/isn't. The hotel is located in the newer city center (but outside the old historic city center) at a very loud and crowded main road, traffic noise almost 24 hours. The rooms are OK but partly with very low ceiling. The view from the hotel is to other rather ugly buildings, the view from the breakfast room in 9th floor is to an extremely ugly building. The front desk stuff and waiters in the restaurant are friendly and helpful, with some to perfect English knowledge. The "western style" restaurant is acceptable; the meals are in best case below or on average. The pool is a bit small but usable, the whirl pool on the side is phantastic. The historic city center with the enormous walls and gate house is only 3 km away, but besides some old temples (very interesting) the overall city appearance is faceless. Close to the hotel nothing interesting to see.

Will recommend it to anyone.

We had a very nice stay. The hotel staff were friendly. The rooms were neat and tidy and the beds were great. Easy to go around town and excess to subway stations.

Informed the staff that it was our anniversary and the hotel staff treated us in a way like we have never been treated before. Top notch.

Shangri-La Xian

Stayed 3 nights. Main aim was to see the Terracotta Warriors but pleasantly surprised by the attractions in the city. The hotel was great - well located, clean, quite and comfortable. Very happy with in-house facilities although I did not eat in the hotel - so can't comment on that

Very pleasant hotel for tourists

The room was very comfortable with a good bed, lovely bathroom with excellent shower, large floor plan/ not crowded. We were only sorry that our stay was only 2 nights. Since we were on the club floor we enjoyed the cocktail hour in the club lounge. We did eat breakfast in the regular breakfast restaurant.

Although the hotel staff is very friendly and spoke English, the hotel is dated and below standard for a Shangri La. I would look for another hotel before giving this a try again.

Nice hotel

Comfortable hotel to stay, but the foods were not so good and expensive. The facility is kind of old, but they kept it reasonably clean. The hotel airport shuttle services cost 450 yuan one way and 800 round trip, which is much more expensive than taking taxi or other local shuttle service. Though the hotel is far from the city, it's very convenient to get around by bus and cost almost nothing. The hotel offered us 700 yuan per day for taxi services, we did not take it. Instead two of us spent total 8 yuan and had a lot of fun.

Nice hotel but out of the way location

I think room in the hotel was very comfortable. The bed was really comfortable, nice and soft. More than four pillows on my bed. Nice to bring your gf or wife to relax and enjoy.

Great hotel with wonderful and friendly staff.

Love the hotel and the staff, They are wonderful and service was great. Buffet for breakfast was good except there is a tendency for the food running out and slow to replenish the choices. This is the only negative part overall.

awesome familly trip

Hotel was great. Good value for money and i definitely recommend getting upgraded to vip upon check in as the lounge is really cool. The main restaurant food is a bit weak, but it is largely compensated by the lounge food if you get upgraded.

Good Hotel

We stayed in the old part but is was very good, clean and plenty of room. Food in Hotel was good, we had to eat there as my wife can not eat spice food and a lot of the food out side spice and fish again another NO NO. MTR next door and plenty of buses and no problems with Taxis. One tip is to get the place where you are going written in the local language and carry a Hotel card the same way

Nice hotel with easy access to central Xian

It was a good base to see the sights of Xian. Easy to organise tours, but also next to the metro which allowed you to make the short journey into the downtown tourist areas.

Weekend in Xi'an

Shangri-La Golden Flower - Good location, close to subway. We enjoyed the hospitality of the 'Club Room' facilities & would recommend the upgrade. Nice selection on the breakfast buffet:) Staff were very friendly, and aimed to please.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Frank, the concierge, was extremely thoughtful and they even made us a take away breakfast for our early morning departure. Dining options were terrific.

Recommend - good value, up grade to the Ocean Club

Last week we stayed 2 nights at Shangri-La Golden Flower. We up graded to use their club floor facilities Ocean club which was excellent. The breakfast was v good in the Ocean Club as were the evening drinks and tasty canapes. The staff especially in the Ocean Club were super - special thank you to Vivien and Carol. The swimming pool was lovely and not busy.

Elegant lobby, helpful staff, Wi-Fi best in lobby. Room large, good view, lot of traffic but quiet enough. Near subway and tea market. Furniture dated. Air conditioning mediocore. Water glasses and tea cups not clean. Location not best for tourist but taxis cheap and available. Still good value for price.

Vi bodde tre nÀtter pÄ hotellet, personal hjÀlpsam och vÀnlig. Hotellet ligger nÀra den gamla stadskÀrnan och det var enkelt att med taxi ta sig till terrakottaarmen, vildgÄspagod, klocktorn och ringmur samt till ofrÄn flygplats. Helt ok hotell

48 hours in Xian

Good location and very friendly staff. But hotel is somewhat run down and badly in need of refurbishment. The restaurants serve insipid food, especially the daily buffets.
