Zentral gelegenes Hotel
Der Speisesaalbereich war stilvoll eingerichtet. Zimmer und Bad waren ok, der Zugang über Treppen und enge Gänge mit großen Koffern eine Herausforderung. Das Frühstück war durchschnittlich. Günstigere Gebühr über das Hotel beim Parken auf öffentlichem Parkplatz (zu Fuss ca. 10 Minuten). Man ist sofort in der Fussgängerzone mit den Bars und Pubs.

Die Wegbeschreibungauf der Hotels.com Website ist sehr ungenau. Das Hotel deshalb schwer zu finden und Gehzeit mindestens 10 Min. Statt 1 wie beschrieben. Lage und Hotel sind top, Betten etwas schmal.

This is NOT a hotel for anyone who has a car. It is impossible to access the Hotel at any time as it is in a pedestrian controlled area. It is NOT a hotel for anyone one who has mobility problems. 39 steps to a congested bedroom( designated “character” ) at additional.cost is unacceptable. The room was gloomy &/cluttered with huge furniture and proved to be without any central heating for the first night of our stay. It was the coldest night of 2024.🍾 The staff were sympathetic and eventually found a single electric heater at 9.30 p.m. by which time we had already retired! Sadly an experience NOT to be repeated. An apology & a substantial refund is the very least I would expect.

Great place to stay when visiting York. Everything within walking distance. Lovely meal in the cellar bar beneath the hotel. Little bit of noise as we were at the front of the building, but to be expected from a period single glazed window. The hottest hotel bathroom I have ever been in, towel rail on full blast.

Great position in the centre of York, but very quiet. The courtyard rooms were fairly small but lovely and well appointed. Excellent breakfast. Would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation.

This hotel is located right in the heart of York city centre but is set back from the road making it very quiet.It had a lovely outdoor seating area and a terraced area on the next level.The staff were always very friendly and courteous.The room although a little small it had everything we needed for our short stay bathroom area very clean and modern bath robes available.Although we didn’t use the tea and coffee facilities there was a good selection with a small jug of milk in in fridge.Having a bottle of water in the the room was a lovely touch.The breakfast was amazing with a good varied choice to start with finished with a full cooked English breakfast which was delicious.Overall we had a wonderful experience staying at the Judges Lodgings and would highly recommend for a perfect stay in York.

We stayed for two nights and all the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us no matter how small the query. The breakfasts were very filling and set us up for the day’s activities. We will definitely recommend staying here in one of the Terrace rooms and look forward to staying again in the future. X

Very relaxing stay at the Judges in York
We were in York for one night, and stayed at the Judges Lodging. We were pleasantly impressed with the charming atmosphere, the close proximity to the train station and the areas of York that we wanted to see, and the friendliness of the staff. After a full day of wandering the streets and attractions, we relaxed in the warm lower level pub with tea and a beer. Our room was almost like an attached cottage room, that had a very modern and stylish bathroom. The beds were comfy, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

Fresh Milk delivered to door in the morning was just amazing. So nice to have plenty of milk for tea. Parking was a little difficult being a 10 minute walk away so not really convenient if you need to carry a lot of luggage. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.

This property is BEAUTIFUL and the location is 10/10. The breakfast was also one of the best I've had. The only reason I can't rate our stay a 5/5 was because of our room. We stayed in the Lavender/Terrace room and it was more of a Studio space, rather than an adequate space for 2 people. It was so tight and had zero privacy. Also, the room had a musty smell that had me congested for the duration of the stay. The bed was also very uncomfortable and was on non-locking wheels which I found very strange. If you shifted at all, the bed would move and roll into the TV stand. It was all just really awkward. I would stay at the Judges Lodgings again, but I would request a larger room, not on the terrace.

Large patio for dinner and drinks. Centrally located to train station, easy to walk to hotel, however in old town so you are not in the train station area. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Property appears to be going through upgrading which is freshening up key areas but not disrupting guests stay. Rooms could use cleaning attention around baseboards and windows. This is typical of a majority of properties.
