  • The Gillis House is the largest single family home in Siskiyou County. It’s been a movie set as well as an episode on the PBS show “If These Walls Could Talk.” The mansion has two new kitchens for your private use. One bedroom can be converted from a king bed to two extra long twin beds. Let us know your preference. The massive downstairs offers a large, fully-equipped chef's kitchen, huge living room, library with big screen tv, game room with poker table and 12 foot long custom table in the grand dining room. as well as a first-level bedroom for those guests who would prefer not to walk up stairs. The remaining four bedrooms are on the second level along with a kitchenette.

Absolutely the best property I’ve stayed at! Virtually every amenity. The kitchen was off the charts, with every pot, pan, utensil one could wish for. The beds were crazy comfortable. Convenient to both downtown Yreka, also to Highway access…absolutely beautiful!

A Perfect Home for Family Gatherings

A beautifully furnished historic home perfect for family gatherings. 14 family members (ages 80 years to 2 months) stayed 3 nights in this amazing home. This home will definitely be our choice for future stays in Yreka.

Plenty of room for everyone to visit. The kitchen was wonderful, with everything we needed to prepare meals. We did find the house a little warm, but would differently stay again.

Our big family loves having a place where we can all get together. The mansion is such a charming step back in time. Our grandkids organized a game night of live Clue. Playing the murder mystery from room to room with costumes and cardboard weapons. The house is well equipped and very comfortable . We will definitely come back.

We booked the house to be near my sister for Christmas and had absolutely MAGICAL stay. The owners decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree and garlands in the entry, Christmas music CDs for the player, and the Victorian charm took care of the rest of the house. The kitchen was AMAZINGLY well stocked, I’ve never stayed anywhere with such a great kitchen. We appreciated all the extra lap blankets and other cozy touches that made us feel at home. I’ve stayed in several rentals, this was by far the best we’ve ever had. Thank you for a great holiday, and I hope we have another opportunity to stay there again!

Family gathering

This house was perfect for a gathering of extended family. We had large group meals around the table, and the ample seating in the front room, library and elsewhere made it possible for smaller groups to visit comfortably. The house is beautifully appointed and the bedrooms are luxurious.

Yreka Gillis Mansion

My siblings and I rented the Gillis Mansion to have a place where our family could stay together when we came to Yreka to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday. This property was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of space for everyone and the house is perfectly appointed. We enjoyed cooking in the beautiful and modern kitchen and all being able to fit in the dining room at the table together. We had a perfect weekend at this beautifully restored property.

This was the second time that a group of us have rented this beautiful house for a ‘friends reunion’. Once again, it did not disappoint. The place is spotlessly, clean, beautifully decorated, and large enough to easily accommodate our group of 10. The kitchen has everything needed to cook for and serve a large group. We plan to book it again next year.

The house is impressive and the kitchen is WELL stocked with spices and housewares. Everyone slept comfortably, even the roll aways were top notch. The host was nice and helpful as well. Great stay in a super cool house!

Came to Yreka for a memorial service in Horsecreek for my cousin. Life long friends and their daughter joined us. We were so comfortable visiting and talking old memories in this beautiful setting. We’d all recommend the Gillis mansion to anyone. Every detail to make the stay comfortable was covered.

One of the absolute best properties we have ever stayed with, Home was breathtakingly beautiful- convenient location- and owners were easy to communicate with and had met all request before we even new what we needed- home was well stocked, felt very comfortable and relaxing. Montaque Wedding

We were a group of 5 couples attending a wedding in Montaque. The Gillis Mansion is like stepping back in time with all the modern amenities. I was amazed at the comfort of the very well-stocked house. Our whole group agrees we would definitely stay at the Gillis Mansion again!

Friends group

This has got to be one of the best vacation rentals I’ve stayed at in the US, and I’ve stayed at a lot. From start to finish our group of 8 enjoyed every moment of this lovely historic home. It had great vibes, cleanliness, space, and comfort. Our host Stacy was top notch and was there anytime we needed her. The kitchen had all the essentials you needed to make large meals. We definitely will return and stay at this amazing place!!

Such a wonderful rental!

During our 3 night stay, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the house, including all those that had hotel rooms in town! Every room was nicely laid out & equipped with everything necessary for a memorable time. I’m not sure it could have worked any better for our family group and we would not hesitate to rent it again in the future! This history of the house made it even more memorable for us all. We can’t thank the owners enough for having this chance to enjoy this home!

Exceeded expectations

This was the best short term rental ever for a siblings reunion. This place is absolutely beautiful... Impressive bedrooms, antique beds and furniture, plenty of bathrooms and large kitchen. It was perfect as it has five bedrooms with more than ample space and privacy. We expected it to be nice but it exceeded our expectations.Hopefully those who rent this place in the future will treat it with the respect and care it deserves so it can be enjoyed for many years to come..

WE LOVED THE HOUSE! It was extremely clean, huge and charming. We only had six adults (and four small kids that shared a room) so dividing the price by six was over a hundred per person…. but, if you had five couples staying (or even more as the house sleeps 16), the price would have been outstanding! Stacy explained everything well, the welcome sheet follows up with great instructions and Yreka info.I wish we could have stayed at the house longer as we only sleep there and left each morning for Fort Jones. Some may not care about “looks,” but it is worth sharing that the craftsmanship and attention to detail (both in decor and “things travelers’ need) at this house is simply amazing! The woodwork, the stone work, the painting, the polished floors….. perfection! (Definitely a lost art in new home building.) I laughed every time someone came down the front stairs looking for someone and that person had just gone up the back stairs…. We loved sitting around the island in the kitchen (very nice appliances!) in the morning for coffee one morning and then out on the front porch the next! Thank you Cynthia and Stacy!

Family gathering

This is a great property to enjoy if you want to cook together and eat together at the large dining room table.There is plenty of room for 5 couples to sleep but the additional sleeping arrangements are not as described, there are no futons. Also one of the bedrooms does not have air conditioning and it gets hot.Overall a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful Historic Home

We had a great time staying at the Gillis Mansion with our kids and grandkids. It’s a beautiful property equipped with everything we needed. Both the owner and property manager were great to communicate with. We played tons of games and had a live Clue night in costumes . Lifetime memories. 5 stars!
