A local has told us that the Indian company that owns the hotel has not paid the local staff wages and they have been forced to leave. « There was a problem with our reservation as apparently hotels.com bookings do not transfer over to the hotels system and therefore they had no record of our booking. This meant that they did not have the rooms that we had booked available. « We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The accommodation is not in the middle of the city but in a quieter location, that suited us perfectly. The accommodation borders a long, beautiful beach that leads you to the Surf paradise. Lovely outdoor shower in our cabana. Worked well with the fan mosquito net. Good service with everything from food, bikes, washing clothes. Very nice and accommodating staff. We appreciated the accommodation so much that we chose to book another night. Lungy and nice....

« Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. »
