Was charged twice for the full cost of the room. Paid cash in full for room at stay, after checking out was billed FULL amount again on credit card (540 CHF). Hotel California refused to refund. Hotels.com would not assist.
Service is terrible and unorganized. Front desk was extremely rude and only there limited hours. I notified the hotel via email that I would be arriving early at 11:30 AM. When I arrived, I called via the intercom and greeted the person in German. The woman who answered then started yelling at me through the intercom in German; everyone in the street and at the restaurant below could hear. Eventually another guest let me in. When I went to the reception desk, she was sitting in the back room and ignored me for some time before she finally came out. She did not even greet me or ask my name, just grabbed my bag and said "I'll see you at 3" and went back into the office. Check in that afternoon was very slow as they asked everyone to come at the same time. They had papers all over the desk and seemed confused whether people had paid for their rooms. They could not find my bag anywhere. They then went to knock on the doors of the other guests to ask if they had taken my bag. They asked any guest with blue luggage whether they had taken my bag by mistake. The staff accused other guests of stealing luggage because they were too unorganized to keep track themselves. So unprofessional! AC was not working well, internet was spotty. Only upside is the location.
