Hotel Ambleside

« Edna’s Cottage is wonderful. It’s in the ideal location with paths on the doorstep with a range of walks. It was quiet and we spent time in the beautiful garden which was magical. There was a lovely traditional range and an adequately kitted out kitchen. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of hot water and a good shower. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. »

« Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend. »

Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure how 4 adults would feel as it might be a bit on the small side, especially if you are tall people as the ceilings are low. Parking might be a bit tricky. « Apartment was really nice, roomy and comfortable, ideal for two couples. I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids due to proximity to a bar and noise in the evening. Only other niggle was that while the apartment was well kitted out in general, we had to go out and buy hand wash and toilet roll. Not ideal if arriving late and those are expected provisions in my mind. Overall though, I would recommend as handy central location and it was in good condition. View from the living room was...

« Overall the stay was excellent, but the front door is an issue and is a problem to lock. Called the agent and they set the maintenance team off to sort it out. It was ok for the rest of the stay but it has been mentioned in the visitor book from previous stays. »
