The owner should have warned about 24/7 ear-splitting noise which began on Wednesday and continued through Sunday morning, when we left 3 days early.
No hot tub. The dingy, old and broken furniture and fixtures did NOT match the photos. We spoke to the owner about the lack of a hot tub upon arrival. He blamed VRBO.
The house had clearly not been cleaned prior to our stay: we dusted, shoved filthy rugs under furniture, cleared cobwebs from inside the dishes cabinet, noted dead flowers in a vase and plastic chairs on the terrace instead of nice ones. This house had seen better days!
The noise included shouting, off-key singing and canned/live music blaring through bad speakers cranked to the max, soccer matches, deafening fireworks, parades, along with motorcycles, delivery trucks and construction noise as workers took down and then reconstructed stages. I am not describing the type of traffic-noise one would hear along a busy boulevard; this was like a surround-sound torture chamber. The noise level at 1 AM Sunday morning registered 80 decibles. Fireworks and construction noise began again at 5 AM.
