„The room was excellent and the staff were all lovely. We had dinner the first evening but somehow our order got 'lost' and we waited an hour for the food from ordering. Meanwhile, meals were being brought out for diners around us. No one seemed to notice that we were waiting and waiting..... However, the staff were very apologetic, the food was delicious (when it finally arrived) and we were not charged for it in the end. Overall, a great place to stay- and eat- and we would recommend.“

„One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.“

„The overall, feeling of a very nice place to stay, food ambience staff, where it is. Once you realise the sat nav wants to take you down a road that’s going to be closed for a year ,a drive all the way round the barracks and plenty parking . We would go back k if in the area again“

„Alles sauber, sehr nettes Personal, Frühstück war sehr lecker - auch Abendessen ist sehr zu empfehlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder :) “

„Okay for a short stay. Little bit of tlc was needed throughout, otherwise all ok“

„A nice travellers rest inn, we had a very spacious ground floor room with an equally spacious ensuite, the room was a little noisy early evening, but was generally quiet overnight. Well located in the centre of Bakewell close to all the town has to offer. The adjoining pub has a great atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.“

„Schönes Zimmer, nettes Personal, schöne Gegend. “

„Kleines Gasthaus in idyllischer Lage auf einem Hügel. Nette Gastgeber, gutes individuelles Frühstück, kein Buffet. Etwas abgelegen, was aber durch die tolle Aussicht wettgemacht wird.“

„The staff was amazing, kind and very hhelpful. The room was okay.“

„Loud. Incredibly loud. First, they gave no indication that the room I was staying in opened directly onto the street. The door lock was strange, perhaps just something I'm not used to, but I struggled with ensuring that it was locked during the night. (I work in a technical field, I'm not dim, but jeez, I felt stupid) Considering people milling around outside the pub at night were quite drunk, shouty, and possessed of questionable decision making, I ended up putting a chair in front of the door ...
