« Incredible stay at Basalt Retreat! We enjoyed a cozy and luxurious evening the beautiful vineyard, made even more lovely by the complimentary bottle of prosecco and warm hot cocoa. The space itself is gorgeous and so well appointed—from the fascinating books to the gorgeously-scented bath products. Breakfast was delicious: an exquisite croissant loaf with butter and fig jam, plus yogurt and muesli, all made by local purveyors. If you have time, make sure to get lunch at the lovely restaurant....

« The property was absolutely stunning, beautiful garden, amazing interior, large communal space, outdoor and indoor. Big BBQ area, pizza oven, pool. Bedrooms were great, isolated, no noise issues. My only issue was that the water pressure in the showers in the house (not including the cabins) was terrible. Other than that everything was amazing. Would have been nice to know that there was a pizza oven as this wasn't in the pictures. The pictures could be updated to show how amazing the house is,...

« A quirky property, but not one for winter. This property is off grid and we were only informed 2 days prior to arriving that the electricity is limited particularly the use of heaters. Whilst there is a fire place, there was only wood provided for two days, we had booked 4. After spending a further 100 on wood from the supermarket we struggled to keep the place warm, even when we were prepared with extra warm clothing. »
