It was everything you could want in a B&B. The beach is literally across the street. Super cozy, delicious breakfast.

When I was a teenager, I used to drive past the Cashelmara Inn and say: someday I’m going to stay there. I left the state decades ago, but I finally made my wish come true. The Inn is beautiful. Walking inside is like taking a step back in time, in the very best way. It retains all of the charm of a bygone era, yet has all of the modern amenities that you could need or want. The bed was so comfortable, I had my best sleep in two weeks of traveling. When we return to New Jersey next year, the trip will include a stay at Cashelmara.

Nice place. Excellent staff.
The staff were really friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed the close location to the beach. Our room/bathroom was a bit run down - lots of obvious marks on the wall, bathroom cabinet missing drawer pulls, etc. However, the bed was comfortable and we were grateful for a quiet place to stay during a music festival at Asbury Park.

Staff makes it special
The staff made our stay memorable. Truly great people. The room was “cozy”, shower was tiny for my 6ft 220 frame but doable. The breakfast and snacks were excellent and honestly the best homemade hot sauce I have ever had (and I travel often). Right across the street from the beach but far walk to town.

Wasn't greeted and given a tour of amenities. No information about where pool was and how to access it. Didn't like that their wasn't a manager there at all times. Alittle over priced. Staff that was there during morning were great! Breakfast was very good!

The property was near a lake as well as walking half a block to the beach. The lawn was nice and plump featuring well tended trees, hydrangias and other flowers. The chaises were great day and night. Daytime sunshine and nighttime fireflies. There were always light snacks, fresh baked muffins and cookies and soft drinks an arms length away.

Excited to return
Old timey charm with included breakfast. I expected maybe bagels and mini boxes of cereal, but instead we got on demand French toast, omelettes, pancakes, etc. They provide beach towels and chairs for free and will set them up for you for a nominal fee. They have a little screening room with dvds and streaming (you can log into your own Netflix). Very comfortable. They have neverending hot water (i actually had to turn down the heat quite low). The lights and ceiling fan are on remote so you don’t have to get out of bed. 15 min walk to Main Street for restaurants. 1 min walk to the beach. Included parking. Really left nothing to be desired, we can’t wait to go back.

This property has many luxuries rooms with fireplaces and even Jacuzzis in some. Make sure you know what size room you're reserving. There is at least one tiny room. You can see the rooms best on their website.

Cashelmara is in a lovely garden setting opposite the beach. At least partial ocean views from most rooms. The manager Mary is warm and welcoming. Breakfast is better than average with a number of selections you can choose from, and the staff is very accommodating. Have stayed here a number of times over the past 25 years and it is always very pleasant.

Great place to enjoy the beach.
Great place to stay right by the beach. The place was very clean, and the room that we had included a nice ocean view. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I had called in the day before arriving and asked about if they could handle a gluten-free/dairy free diet and they made it happen. Even had a few very tasty gluten free blueberry muffins available. We were in town for a show at the Stone Pony and it was a great place to leave from and come back to. It was pre-season (Mother's Day weekend) so a bit slower than summer, but a really nice and relaxed place to stay.

I was upset at the fact that I found some sord of crumbs underneath the sheets and my fiancé noticed some kind of black dried up insects underneath the sheets as well. Made us wonder if they even change their sheets after every customer!??? Manager Mary customer service was good as far as getting me situated in a bigger room other than that i wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.

Great visit, back where we came from
Beautiful beach B&B/hotel. Mary was very helpful and friendly, breakfast was very good. The location is as close as you can get to the beach in Avon. The whole area by the beach feels very safe and clean. Cahelmara is furnished with very interesting antiques and has that turn of the [19th] century feel.

No place to dress for a wedding
Did not know it was a Bed and Breakfast. Room extremely cramped and on 3rd floor with a 1/2 width stairway from 2nd to 3rd level. Staying for a wedding and we could barely fit in the tiny bathroom. Hit my shead on the ceiling dormer angles 3 times. No outlets available for chargers. Toilet in room was full of urine, and tub had no shower other than a hand held hose wrapped around the faucet. so they changed our room to a smaller room. Nice staff and great breakfast. Rest of the inn was very nice.
