"Climbing up on Solsbury Hill", made famous by the Peter Gabriel song of 1979. The hill is actually called Little Solsbury Hill, it's a hill fort above Bathampton, just east of Bath. The photo was taken looking west to the Swainswick Valley, on a glorious May day, when the whole hill was covered in buttercups. It's a fantastic destination on a summers day. We did a 15 mile circular hike from Bath, following the start of the Cotswolds Way out of Bath, up to Kelston Round Hill. At the Horse race course, turn right off the Cotswolds Way, and head to Landsdown Road. Cross the road, and head across the level fields to Charlcombe Grove Farm, then descend into the valley below to go through Woolley village and to Upper Swainswick. Cross the A46, and climb up Solsbury Hill. From there descend to the south east to Bathampton, cross the River Avon and head up to the Kennet & Avon canal, which you follow back into Bath. An alternate walk up Solsbury Hill is provided by Damian Hall in the Cicerone title "Walking in the Cotswolds" - Walk 26 "Swainswick Valley and Little Solsbury Hill". That starts from a car park on the A46.

L’hĂŽtel est trĂšs bien situĂ© et accessible. Il a cependant fallu insister pour avoir la chambre que nous avions rĂ©servĂ©e car le soir de notre arrivĂ©e aprĂšs minuit la chambre qui nous a Ă©tĂ© donnĂ©e Ă©tait beaucoup plus petite que ce que nous avions choisi et payĂ©. Overpriced for what you get - tiny bedroom and ceilings in the basement flats very low. Bathroom was good with good water pressure. Couldn't get internet and no-one to ask over the weekend as reception closed.

The Lakeside walk in the Newton Park campus of Bath Spa University is my favourite place to go between lectures. The natural beauty of this campus is one of the reasons I chose to apply to this university. I still find it crazy how quickly I can feel immersed in the great outdoors, whilst still being close to the university buildings. Filled with swans, ducks, herons and a 15th century tower across the lake, there is plenty to sit back and appreciate. #Trovember Photo Contest
